Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering and can be used for crushing chips formed during cutting on lathes.
A device for chip crushing is known, described in the patent for invention RU 2641444, published on January 17, 2018, in which a steel billet is machined with chip crushing by heating the workpiece surface with a laser beam that is moved along this billet. The disadvantage of the present invention is the high energy consumption for heating a large surface area of the part.
A device for turning hard-to-machine materials is described in utility model patent RU 164938, published on September 27, 2015, in which the workpiece is turned by passing electric current pulses between the tool and the workpiece. This gives an increase in the productivity of part processing due to heating of the workpiece area located directly in the contact zone of the cutter and the machined surface, which leads to an increase in the plasticity of the workpiece material, but does not provide chip breaking, since electric current pulses do not pass through the chip.
The solution closest to the proposed technical essence and the effect achieved is the device described in A.S. No. 899284, published 01/23/82, "Method of chip breaking during cutting." In this device, chip crushing is carried out by melting it by an electric discharge between the plates (electrodes) at the moment of the minimum value of the cutting force. The disadvantage of this invention is the instability of chip breaking and high energy consumption. The instability of chip breaking is explained by the fact that an electric discharge for chip breaking occurs only when the chip simultaneously touches two plates (electrodes) and cannot always pass through the chip. The high power consumption for chip breaking is due to the use of a powerful DC power supply.
In this regard, the most important task is to develop a new device for chip breaking when machining on a lathe, which can improve the stability of chip breaking and at the same time reduce energy consumption.
The technical result of the proposed device is aimed at improving the stability of chip breaking during cutting on a lathe by direct transmission of electric current pulses directly through the chips with reduced energy consumption.
0,8÷1,2.This result is achieved by the fact that in the device for chip breaking during cutting on a lathe, including a power source, a metal chip receiver, according to the invention, the power source is made in the form of a pulsed source, one pole of which is connected by means of the first flexible cable to the metal chip receiver. chips, and the other pole is used to connect the second flexible cable with a lathe, while the receiver for metal chips is made in the form of a cone of insulating material with a wall thickness of 2÷5 mm, inside which is inserted another cone of electrically conductive material with a wall thickness of 1÷2 mm, and the diameter of the base of the cone D is 30÷80 mm, and the ratio of the diameter of the base of the cone D to its height H is 0.8÷1.2.
An increase in crushing stability is ensured by the fact that electric current pulses are passed directly through the chips. The receiver with a cone wall thickness of insulating material t=2÷5 mm provides it with sufficient strength and isolates it from high voltage on the ground, and a cone of electrically conductive material with a wall thickness of 1÷2 mm also provides optimal strength, which at other values significantly below. When the ratio of the diameter of the base of the cone D to its height H is equal to 0.8÷1.2, the best chip entry into the cone and its crushing are ensured, which will be less effective for other sizes. At the same time, due to the fact that the proposed device uses a pulse source, which is triggered only at the moment the chips touch the wall of the inner cone, the power consumption is reduced compared to the direct current source specified in the prototype.
In FIG. 1 shows a device for crushing chips during cutting on a lathe.
11.An example of a specific implementation of the proposed invention is illustrated in Fig. 1 showing a chip breaking device for cutting on a lathe. It includes a
The device works as follows. We first turn on the
The present invention was tested when cutting on a lathe bars of various steel grades with a diameter of 15÷80 mm. A pulsed power source with a stored energy of up to 10 kW was used. The outer cone of the chip receiver was made of textolite, the outer diameter of the base of which was equal to D=80 mm, and the height of the cone was H=100 mm (D/H=0.8). The wall thickness of this cone is 4 mm, and the wall thickness of the metal cone inserted into the textolite cone is 2 mm. The operation of the device showed stable chip breaking at various cutting speeds and cutter feeds.
Thus, the use of the described invention for chip breaking during machining on a lathe makes it possible to increase the stability of chip breaking and reduce power consumption.
