Abstract
Description
The invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to the alloying of aluminum with refractory rare metals, specifically to the alloying of aluminum with tantalum.
A known method of producing an aluminum-niobium-tantalum alloy, including the preparation of an initial mixture containing tantalum pentoxide, niobium pentoxide and aluminum, by preliminary drying the initial components and thorough mixing to create conditions for a thermite reaction, after which the precursor alloy is cooled and subjected to vacuum thermal melt processing in a vacuum of at least 10 Pa and a temperature of 1300 - 1350 ° C for 10-20 minutes in a water-cooled copper crucible of special design (patent CN 110408806; IPC C22B 5/04, C22C 1/03, C22C 14/00, C22C 21/00; 2020).
The disadvantage of this method is the use of vacuum heat treatment at high temperatures with processing in specialized original equipment.
Известен способ получения сплава алюминий-тантал-углерод, содержащего 1,0-4,0 масс.% тантала, который распределен в матрице алюминия в виде интерметаллида TaAl3 в количестве около 1,0%, путем предварительного получения расплава алюминия с последующем введением в расплав гептафтортанталата калия (K2TaF7) и выдержкой при перемешивании (заявка CN 109468479; МПК C22C 1/02, C22C 1/03, C22C 21/00; 2019 год)(прототип).A known method of producing an aluminum-tantalum-carbon alloy containing 1.0-4.0 wt.% Of tantalum, which is distributed in an aluminum matrix in the form of an intermetallic compound TaAl 3 in an amount of about 1.0%, by preliminary obtaining an aluminum melt with subsequent introduction into potassium heptafluorotantalate melt (K 2 TaF 7 ) and holding with stirring (application CN 109468479; IPC C22C 1/02, C22C 1/03, C22C 21/00; 2019) (prototype).
279-285). The disadvantage of this method is the use of potassium heptafluorotantalate as a starting compound, which belongs to difficult-to-obtain compounds, since its production is an independent technological process involving several stages (SM Masloboeva, GN Duboshin, LG Harutyunyan “Research of obtaining potassium heptafluorotantalate from fluoride-sulfuric acid solutions ”Vestnik MGEU, v.12, No. 2, 2009, pp.279-285).
Thus, the authors were tasked with developing a simple method for doping aluminum with tantalum, assuming the use of available commercially available raw materials as initial components.
The problem is solved in the proposed method of doping aluminum with tantalum, including the preliminary production of an aluminum melt with the introduction of an active reagent into the melt, followed by holding with stirring, in which a mixture consisting of potassium chloride, sodium fluoride, aluminum fluoride and tantalum pentoxide is used as an active reagent at the following ratio (wt.%): 40 ÷ 45% KCl, 35 ÷ 40% NaF, 10 ÷ 15% AlF 3 ; 5 ÷ 10% Ta 2 O 5, which before the introduction into the melt while mixing milled and dried at a temperature of 150-160 ° C.
Currently, there is no known method for doping aluminum with tantalum using a mixture of potassium chloride, sodium fluoride, aluminum fluoride and tantalum pentoxide as an active reagent within the proposed content limits.
The proposed method allows the doping of aluminum with tantalum using tantalum pentoxide and a salt composition of a mixture of potassium chloride, sodium fluoride and aluminum fluoride, by introducing into molten aluminum. Preliminary drying and grinding of a mixture of these salts and tantalum pentoxide during melting increases the solubility of oxides, forming complex complex compounds that interact with molten aluminum and alloy it with small additions of tantalum, which forms an intermetallic compound Al 3 Ta with aluminum. In addition, the use of a salt mixture of chloride and fluoride of alkali metals additionally leads to the refining of aluminum, since the process of alloying aluminum is simultaneously accompanied by purification from such impurities as arsenic, copper and other heavy metals, oxygen, hydrogen, silicon, etc. refining. The selected ratios of components are due to the following. At a content of more than 10 wt.% Ta 2 O 5, its solubility decreases and the interaction of tantalum pentoxide with aluminum worsens, and at a content of less than 5 wt.% Ta 2 O 5 , the consumption of reagents (salts) sharply increases; if the content of potassium chloride is reduced to less than 40 wt%, the melting point of the salt mixture increases and some part remains unmelted and, accordingly, does not participate in the high-temperature exchange reaction; with an increase in the content of potassium chloride over 45 wt%, the formation of a volatile (boiling point 236 ° C) tantalum chloride compounds (V)). A decrease in the content of sodium fluoride less than 35 mass% and aluminum fluoride less than 10 mass% leads to a decrease in the amount of tantalum pentoxide reacted with aluminum. An increase in the content of sodium fluoride over 40 wt.% And aluminum fluoride over 15 wt.% Leads to a decrease in the proportion of potassium chloride and, because of this, to an increase in the melting point of the active reagent as a whole. The temperature range was chosen taking into account the fusibility of the salts and the reduction of their evaporation losses. The time interval is due to the kinetics of the high-temperature exchange reaction, but with an increase in the time of more than 30 min, the evaporation of salts exceeds the critical threshold and the reaction of intense oxidation of aluminum begins.
The proposed method can be implemented as follows. An active reagent is preliminarily prepared by mixing, wt%: 40 ÷ 45 KCl, 35 ÷ 40 NaF, 10 ÷ 15 AlF 3 , and 5 ÷ 10 Ta 2 O 5 . The resulting mixture is crushed with simultaneous stirring and dried at a temperature of 150-160 ° C for 1 hour. An aluminum melt is obtained by melting aluminum (granules or ingot) in a furnace at a temperature of 800 ± 20 ° C. The active reagent is fed to the aluminum melt with constant stirring, after the components of the active reagent are melted, stirring is continued for 20-30 minutes. After that, it is kept for 3-5 minutes and the resulting slag is removed, after which the aluminum alloy is poured. The phase composition of the obtained alloy was monitored by X-ray phase analysis. The concentration of tantalum in the alloy was controlled by X-ray fluorescence express analysis with periodic control of the obtained alloys by mass spectroscopy.
