Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of veterinary medicine, in particular to veterinary obstetrics.
For the treatment of subclinical mastitis in cows, disinfecting and irritating ointments and liniment are widely used to rub into the skin of the affected quarter of the udder. For this purpose, camphor, ichthyol, salicylic, iodine and other ointments have been proposed.
Мазь по степени воздействия на организм теплокровных животных относится к малоопасным веществам в рекомендуемых дозах не оказывает местнораздрожающего, резорбтивно-токсического, сенсибилизирующего действия (Инструкция по применению мази йодной - http://www.zootechnologii.ru/maz%20iod.htm).A known method of treating mastitis in cows using iodine ointment, which is an antiseptic. It acts locally for a long time and is effective on the affected areas antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral. When applied to the skin, active iodine is slowly and evenly released from the ointment, which oxidizes the amino acids of enzymes and transmembrane proteins of pathogenic microorganisms. According to the degree of impact on the body of warm-blooded animals, the ointment belongs to low-hazard substances in recommended doses, does not have a local irritating, resorptive-toxic, sensitizing effect (Instructions for the use of iodine ointment - http://www.zootechnologii.ru/maz%20iod.htm).
Местно препарат применяют в виде мази как противовоспалительное, антимикробное и отвлекающее вещество при маститах (патент РФ №2290951, А61К 47/44, 2005 г.).Known drug for the treatment of inflammatory processes in domestic and farm animals, including components in the following ratio, wt. %: refined oil 20-25, lanolin 20-25, resorcinol 3-5, petroleum jelly 30-35, paraffin - the rest, to give consistency as a filler. Locally, the drug is used in the form of an ointment as an anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and distracting agent for mastitis (RF patent No. 2290951, A61K 47/44, 2005).
The disadvantage of the drug are contraindications: frequent use leads to keratinization of the skin of the mammary gland and can cause rejection of the surface layers of the epidermis. Paraffin, which is part of the drug, is not absorbed by the skin and delays the absorption of medicinal substances.
% и растворитель - воду деионизированную- остальное (патент РФ №2713927, А61К 31/10, 2019 г.).Also known is a method of treating subclinical mastitis in cows using external application of a gel-like preparation containing dimexide 2-5 wt. %, xanthan gum 1-3 wt. %, zinc chelate compound 8-9 wt. %, vanilla essential oil 0.2-0.4 wt. %, petrolatum 5-15 wt. % and solvent - deionized water - the rest (RF patent No. 2713927, A61K 31/10, 2019).
Наиболее близким является техническое решение, которое включает наружное втирание 3-х кратно через сутки комплексной мази, состоящей из резорцина, борной кислоты и из наполнителя, содержащего вазелин и ланолин, растительное масло (патент РФ №2383338, А61К 31/05, 2010 г.).The closest is a technical solution that includes external rubbing 3 times every other day of a complex ointment consisting of resorcinol, boric acid and a filler containing petroleum jelly and lanolin, vegetable oil (RF patent No. 2383338, A61K 31/05, 2010 ).
The disadvantage of the known method for the treatment of mastitis is that the anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effect is insufficient. In addition, boric acid can lead to cracking, which will further complicate milking of cows.
One of the main disadvantages of treating mastitis with ointments and liniment is the spread of the smell and color of medicinal substances to milk and meat, as a result of which their value as food is lost. After their use, dermatitis is observed on the skin of the affected lobe of the udder, which aggravates the pathological process. In case of subclinical mastitis of cows, the drug is used externally for at least 6-7 days. The body's immunological reactions increase only on the 10th day after the end of the drug administration and for a short time. Long-term use of the drug during the course of treatment, weak stimulation of the body's defenses does not provide high therapeutic efficacy in subclinical mastitis in cows.
The technical result is to increase the efficiency of the method for treating cows with subclinical mastitis.
The technical result is achieved by the fact that in the method for the treatment of subclinical mastitis in lactating cows, including external rubbing 3 times every other day, a complex ointment consisting of resorcinol and a filler containing petroleum jelly and lanolin, according to the invention, the complex ointment is rubbed into a sick quarter of the mammary gland in a dose of no more than 3 grams for 2-3 minutes, while using a complex ointment, to which per 100 g are added in optimal quantities: 1 g of an aqueous solution of 1% concentration of liquid resorcinol; 2 g of lactic acid 2% concentration; 5 g dimexide; 6 g beeswax; 34 g of lanolin and 52 g of petroleum jelly.
The novelty of the proposed method for treating subclinical mastitis is due to the fact that a complex ointment is used, the components of which in optimal quantities provide an increase in the effectiveness of the treatment of the disease.
A method of treating subclinical mastitis in lactating cows is as follows.
A complex ointment is preliminarily prepared. To prepare 100 g of ointment, the components are taken in optimal quantities: 1 g of an aqueous solution of 1% concentration of liquid resorcinol, 2 g of lactic acid of 2% concentration, 5 g of Dimexide, 52 g of petroleum jelly, 6 g of beeswax and 34 g of lanolin. If the above components included in the ointment used are taken in a smaller amount, then the effectiveness will be low, and if more, side effects, such as allergies, may appear.
After removing the secretion from the affected lobe of the udder with a thin layer, externally rub in a complex (resorcinol-milk-dimexide) ointment three times at a dose of 3 g after 24 hours.
The components included in the ointment are characterized by the following properties:
An aqueous solution of resorcinol 1% concentration is a recommended drug for tympanic rumen, intestinal flatulence, inflammation of the stomach and intestines, fungal diseases, dermatitis, wounds, in addition, it has anti-inflammatory, astringent, antipruritic and local anesthetic effects.
An aqueous solution of lactic acid of 2% concentration inhibits most bacteria, acts as an antiseptic and anti-fermenting agent, has low toxicity, and penetrates well through the skin and mucous membranes.
Dimexide has a local analgesic, anti-inflammatory, moderate antiseptic and fibrinolytic effect.
To prepare a deep-acting ointment, lanolin is used, which easily penetrates the skin, and along with it, medicinal substances are well resorbed. Lanolin has a softening and long-term resorptive effect of resorcinol, lactic acid and dimexide on the skin in a limited area.
Example 1. To determine the optimal therapeutic dose of the ointment, 30 lactating cows with subclinical mastitis were selected. Of these, 3 groups were formed according to the principle of analogue pairs (n = 10 heads). The groups included cows of the same age, productivity, lactation period with the same number of affected udder lobes. To the animals of the experimental groups, the ointment was rubbed into the affected portion of the udder three times in the following doses: the first group - 2 g, the second - 3 g, the third - 5 g. Before rubbing the drug, the skin of the mammary gland was mechanically cleaned.
1.The results of treatment were recorded by staging the reaction of milk with dimastin test on the 5th day after rubbing in the drug. The results are shown in Table 1.
From the materials of table 1 it follows that the greatest therapeutic effect was obtained after rubbing the ointment three times in a dose of 3 g.
Reducing the dose of the administered drug to 2 g led to a 10.0% decrease in the number of recovered animals and by 9.1% in the number of cured lobes. An increase in the dose of the ointment to 5 g did not lead to an increase in the number of cured animals and affected lobes.
2).Example 2. To study the effect of the ointment on the tissue of a healthy and subclinical gland affected by subclinical mastitis, rubbing in 3 g of the test drug in compliance with the rules of asepsis was applied in a thin layer three times to healthy (1 experimental) and affected (2 experimental) subclinical mastitis lobes of the udder. The effect of the complex ointment on the breast tissue was judged by the presence (absence) of a local inflammatory reaction, a change in the organoleptic properties of the secret, a change in the content of somatic cells in the secret, which was determined by the Prescott-Breed method in the following terms: before rubbing in and after 24, 48, 72 , 96 and 240 hours after rubbing in the drug. Symmetrical healthy lobes of the udder, into which the preparation was not rubbed, served as a control (see Table 2).
2).As a result of the studies carried out, it was found that the external rubbing of the tested complex ointment in no case caused a local inflammatory reaction and changes in the organoleptic properties of the secretion, an increase in the number of somatic cells. Throughout the experiment, the number of somatic cells in the secretion of the experimental (1) and control (healthy) udder shares remained within the physiological norm. External rubbing of a complex ointment into the lobes of the udder affected by subclinical mastitis (experimental 2) led to a fivefold decrease in the number of somatic cells in secretion in the first three days. In the following days, the content of somatic cells in the secretion stabilized and did not differ from that of healthy udder lobes (Table 2).
Example 3. To study the comparative therapeutic efficacy of the proposed method of treatment, 20 lactating cows with subclinical mastitis were selected, of which two groups of 10 heads each were formed according to the principle of analog pairs. The groups included cows of the same age, productivity, lactation period with the same number of affected udder lobes.
Iodine ointment, which is most widely used in veterinary practice to treat cows with this pathology, was chosen as the basic drug.
3).Subclinical mastitis in lactating cows of the first group (control) was treated with iodine ointment, which was rubbed three times into the affected lobes of the udder at a dose of 3 g with an interval of 24 hours. In animals of the second group (experimental), subclinical mastitis was treated by three times rubbing into the skin of the affected lobe at a dose of 3 g, a complex (resorcinol-milk-dimexide) ointment. The results of treatment were taken into account 6 days after the last external rubbing of the drug by staging a reaction with a 5% solution of dimastine. The reaction to subclinical mastitis was considered negative if the mixture in the well of the milk control plate remained liquid, homogeneous, orange in color. A positive reaction was considered one in which the reactive mixture became a jelly-like consistency of varying degrees and acquired a color from scarlet to crimson (Table 3).
According to the data shown in Table 3, three times rubbing in the complex ointment made it possible to heal 20.0% more cows, 14.3% more patients with subclinical mastitis of the udder lobes compared with the base preparation.
Example 4. To study the effect of drugs on the udder microflora, a microbiological study of the mammary gland secretion of cows of the first group (10 heads, 14 affected lobes), which were treated with a complex ointment, and the second group (10 heads, 14 affected lobes) with iodine ointment was carried out. In all animals, samples of secretions were taken from the affected lobes in compliance with the rules of asepsis and antiseptics before rubbing in the preparations and on the first, second and third days after rubbing in.
Before rubbing in the preparations, microflora was found in all cows in the amount of from 3 to 325 staphylococci and streptococci in 1 ml of secretion.
After rubbing drugs in the secretion of the mammary gland on the fifth day, all cows of the first group (100.0%) had no microflora, five lobes of the cows of the second experimental group (35.7%) contained staphylococci, streptococci and molds.
The use of a complex (resorcinol-milk-dimexide) ointment for subclinical mastitis in lactating cows, along with an increase in the effectiveness of therapeutic measures, does not irritate the breast tissue, is accompanied by a decrease in labor costs for veterinary specialists, allows you to get environmentally friendly products, improve the sanitary quality of milk, prevent cases dysbiosis and recurrence of the pathological process.
