Abstract
Description
The objective of the claimed invention is to develop a method for assessing visceral hypersensitivity in a simpler, non-invasive and affordable way. The solution to the above problem was to conduct a drinking test using non-carbonated drinking water of different temperatures to a feeling of full saturation. A decrease in the volume of fluid drunk with an increase in the temperature of the intake water by 50% or more indicates the presence of temperature hypersensitivity.
Our proposed method is as follows. In the morning, on an empty stomach, for 2 days, the researched consumes non-carbonated drinking water of different temperatures (1st day - 25 ° C, 2nd day 40 ° C) until a feeling of full saturation with subsequent fixation of the volume of liquid drunk. A decrease in the volume of fluid drunk with an increase in the temperature of the water taken by 50 percent or more indicates the presence of temperature hypersensitivity.
The advantages of our proposed method is the simultaneous assessment of both mechanical (stretching of the stomach with water) and temperature (water of different temperatures) visceral hypersensitivity. Since the study is carried out using ordinary still water, it does not require additional equipment and specially trained personnel. Also, this method can be used both in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Example 1. We conducted a study using the proposed method. All the subjects consumed non-carbonated drinking water (day 1 - 25 ° C, day 2 - 40 ° C) for two days until they felt completely saturated with a fixation of the amount of liquid drunk. To conduct a comparative analysis, 2 groups were formed: group 1 patients with symptoms of functional dyspepsia, including epigastric pain syndrome and postprandial distress syndrome; Group 2 - the study, without symptoms of functional dyspepsia.
Также стоит отметить, что у данных пациентов более низкий порог температурной чувствительности, об этом говорит уменьшение объема выпитой жидкости при увеличении температуры воды почти на 60% по сравнению с исходной величиной (583,3 мл в 1-й день (температура воды 25°С) и 241,7 мл во 2-й день (температура воды 40°С).In our study, we revealed a decrease in the visceral sensitivity threshold in subjects with symptoms of functional dyspepsia, as evidenced by a smaller volume of fluid drunk during the entire experiment compared with healthy ones. It is also worth noting that these patients have a lower temperature sensitivity threshold, this is evidenced by a decrease in the volume of liquid drunk with an increase in water temperature by almost 60% compared to the initial value (583.3 ml on the 1st day (water temperature 25 ° C) ) and 241.7 ml on the 2nd day (water temperature 40 ° C).
