SUBSTANCE: performed are sessions of a needle therapy covering corporeal biologically active points of acupuncture E 36, GI 4, RP 6, GI 11, E 39, F 3, RP 10, MC 6, C 5. The invention relates to medicine, in particular to therapy and reflexology, and can be used to correct lipid metabolism disorders in the treatment of atherosclerosis.

A known method for the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis according to patent RU No. 2095059 C1 10.11.1997, which involves the introduction of a drug beta-carotene or lycopene in a daily dose of 5-10 mg / kg body weight, providing a concentration of lycopene in the blood serum of at least 700-800 nm .

The disadvantages include the low efficiency of the method associated with the need for individual clarification of the proposed dosage and the period of prescription of the drug, taking into account the concentration of lycopene formed in the blood serum, since carotenoids are rapidly metabolized and excreted from the human body. The optimal concentration of lycopene in blood serum, at which the therapeutic effect of carotenoids is manifested, should be at least 700-800 nM, therefore, long-term treatment is required to ensure steady inhibition of the accumulation of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood of patients, accelerate positive changes due to an adequate dosage of carotenoid preparations.
