Description

The invention relates to veterinary medicine, in particular to a method for the treatment and prevention of postpartum endometritis in cows.

A known method used for the treatment and prevention of postpartum endometritis in cows, including the intrauterine use of furazolidone sticks, the basis of which is a mixture: N- / 15 nitro-2 furazolidone-3-amino-2-oxazolidone - 1.0 g, citric acid - 0 , 2 g, glycerin - 5.42 (Grigoryeva T.E. Treatment and prevention of endometritis in cows. M: Agropromizdat, 1988, 36 pp.).

Intrauterine sticks with furazolidone have a wide spectrum of antimicrobial activity, but do not have the ability to inactivate toxins secreted by microbes, which, penetrating the uterine myometrium tissue, have a pronounced pathogenic effect on them, and intoxication in the body.

The closest in technical essence, selected as a prototype of the claimed invention, is a method for producing the preparation "giroform-plus" for the treatment and prevention of endometritis in cows (RU 2132184 C1, 06.27.1999), including mixing formaldehyde-containing substances, urea, copper sulfate, diamond green, technical fat and optionally a surfactant and lime water, heating, followed by cooling.

However, the preparation obtained in a known manner, along with an unconditionally high antibacterial and antifungal activity, is a fat suspension that loses mobility at a low temperature, which creates technical problems for its intrauterine administration through a Janet syringe and catheter. This drug does not have the ability to relieve pain, which is important in the septic inflammatory process in the uterus. In addition, undoubtedly, preparations not in liquid form, but in a solid or elastic consistency are more convenient for intrauterine use.

To eliminate the above drawbacks, a complex preparation is proposed for the treatment of endometritis in cows, which includes the following components based on one stick: 0.8% formalin - 5.0 ml; analginum - 1.0 g; citric acid - 0.2 g; glycerin - 5.0 ml; hellebore tincture - 1.0 mg; gelatin - 3.0 g.

The technical result of the invention is to enhance the therapeutic effect and giving the final product a convenient dosage form.

The basis of the drug's action is formalin and analgin.

The inclusion of formalin in the composition of the complex preparation at the indicated concentration is based on the fact that the finished medicinal product in the finished form will contain its minimum allowable concentration within 0.3%, which is able to provide the required antimicrobial and antitoxic effect.

The inclusion of analgin is aimed at quickly stopping the pain syndrome and restoring the uterine contractile function impaired by inflammation. Without a damaging effect, it reduces the soreness of the tissues of the inflamed uterus and lowers the temperature.

Gelatin is necessary to give the drug a convenient dosage form.

Glycerin is necessary to prevent the drying process of the dosage form of the drug during storage.

The inclusion of hellebore was dictated by the need to enhance uterine motility and the removal of pathological contents from it.

Citric acid provides an increase in the acidity of the environment, in which the vital activity of microorganisms becomes impossible.

An example implementation of the method.

In view of the foregoing, the type of furazolidone rods was prepared by intrauterine boluses with formalin and analgin.

To prepare the complex preparation, they took 50 ml of 0.8% formalin, 10 g of analgin, 10.0 ml of tincture of hellebore, 50 ml of glycerin, 2 g of citric acid and 3 g of gelatin per 10 sticks, placed in a hermetically sealed glass flask, contents which was subjected to heating in a water bath until the gelatin is completely melted. By agitating the flask, they were thoroughly mixed until a homogeneous suspension was obtained, after which it was poured into 1x10 cm molds. After gelatin hardening, a ready-made elastic consistency drug was obtained, convenient for intrauterine administration.

The therapeutic efficacy of formalin sticks was tested on patients with purulent-catarrhal endometritis of cows in comparison with the use of formalin of 0.3-0.4% concentration in a volume of 50.0 ml.

We took this reduced concentration, taking into account a more rapid contact interaction with toxins and microbes of uterine exudate compared with a slower release of formalin during the melting of gelatin sticks. In quantitative terms, the formalin content in 50 ml of an aqueous solution and in 5 formalin sticks was equal, which met the requirements for evaluating the effectiveness of the therapeutic effect of drugs on the main active substance.

To conduct the experiment on the basis of analogs by the method of targeted selection, two groups of cows were formed with 10 animals each.

Immediately before the intrauterine administration with the formol preparation, the external genitalia were washed with a 0.1% potassium permanganate solution.
