Abstract
Description
The invention relates to foundry, and in particular to methods of smelting a model composition from ceramic molds.
[1]. There are various methods of smelting a model composition from a ceramic form: in hot water, hot air, superheated steam in an autoclave, in a molten model composition, by exposing the form to microwave energy [1].
The main disadvantage of these methods is the cracking of the mold during smelting from the action of force pressure of the model composition on the mold due to the large linear expansion of the model composition when it is heated to the melting temperature.
[2]. A known method of smelting a model composition from a ceramic mold, in which the form and model composition is heated until the surface layer of the model composition melts to form a liquid compensation layer between the form and the solid part of the model composition [2].
The formation of a liquid compensation layer reduces the pressure of the model composition on the ceramic form, but if the viscosity of the model composition at the heating temperature, the strength and permeability of the ceramic form do not satisfy a certain condition, then the form is not able to withstand the model pressure and filter into it the excess model composition. The excess of model pressure over the strength stress leads to cracking and destruction of the ceramic form.
The aim of the invention is the ability to filter the model composition through the pores of the mold and the exclusion of cracking and fracture of the ceramic mold.
This goal is achieved by the fact that in the method of smelting a model composition from a ceramic mold, the mold and model composition are heated until the surface layer of the model composition melts to form a liquid compensation layer between the mold and the solid part of the model composition.
2.New in the present invention is that the model composition is heated to a temperature at which its viscosity in the compensation layer meets the condition ν≤10 6 • σ • K, where ν is the viscosity of the model composition, Pa • s; σ is the strength of the ceramic form, Pa; K is the permeability of the ceramic form, m 2 ; 10 6 - conventional value, s / m 2 .
The method is as follows.
The mold and model composition are heated until the outer layer of the model composition melts. In this case, between the form and the solid part of the model composition, a liquid compensation layer is formed.
Previously, before smelting, the necessary viscosity of the model composition is calculated depending on the strength and permeability of the ceramic mold.
From the condition ν≤10 6 • σ • K determine the necessary value of the viscosity of the model composition (ν). The dependence of the viscosity of the applied model composition on temperature is known from the tabular data according to the technical specifications or certificate for the model composition, from which the temperature of heating the model composition to a given viscosity is determined.
Strength (σ) and permeability K are determined by testing samples of ceramic molds.
Knowing the necessary value of viscosity and viscosity parameters of the model composition depending on temperature and the physical parameters of the ceramic mold, the technological modes of the process of smelting the model composition from ceramic molds, including temperature and coolant medium, are assigned.
In the studies we used the model composition PS50-50 with a viscosity ν = 0.004 Pa • s at 100 o C and ceramic molds with a strength of σ = 1 ... 5 MPa and permeability K = (0.5 ... 4.5) (10 -13 m 2. The indicated strength and permeability correspond to ceramic molds used in production conditions.
It was found that under normal conditions of smelting under the influence of model pressure 0.8% (of the mold weight) of the model composition is filtered into the pores of the ceramic mold, which corresponds to the specific volume of the model composition filtered into the pores of the mold, V = 4 • 10 -10 m 3 / (s • m 2 ). This value can be considered constant for lost wax-like model compositions.
By experiment and calculation (shown in the table), a regularity-condition for the optimal process of smelting the model composition from ceramic forms was obtained: ν / (σ • K) ≤10 6 .
Under this condition, the specific filtration capacity of the ceramic form / Q / is greater than or equal to the specific volume of the filtered model composition / V /, i.e., the ceramic form is able to withstand model pressure and filter the resulting "excess" of the model composition without cracking and fracture of the ceramic form.
The table shows that the conditions for the process of smelting the model composition from ceramic molds correspond to
The result of the invention is: the exclusion of cracking KF and the associated reduction in marriage of castings.
