Abstract
Description
The invention relates to ultrasonic inspection of products and materials and can be used in various industries to determine the quality of products under control.
A known method of monitoring products by ultrasound images during B and C scanning (RF patent N 2011194, G 01 N 29/04, Bull. Isob. N 7, 04/15/94). Control by this method is carried out as follows: the control object is placed under an ultrasonic transducer, the waveform is analyzed, a specific image acquisition procedure is selected, according to which the quality of the control object is evaluated.
The disadvantage of this device is that when finding the maximum size of the defect in the images obtained during the B scan, you have to reconfigure the control mode. With this method, it takes 3 to 7 minutes to measure the size of the defect, which is unacceptable for 100% control of serial products.
The closest in technical essence to the proposed ultrasonic control method is selected as a prototype "Method of ultrasonic measurement of the width of the weld of products with end parts" (RF patent N 2115921, G 01 N 29/04, Bull. Fig. N 20, 20.07.98 ) Control by this method is carried out by the echo method. Ultrasonic vibrations are introduced and received by a combined transducer that scans the product profile across the weld, records echo signals and coordinates, processes the data on a computer and obtain B and C ultrasound images, which determine the width of the weld.
A significant drawback of this method is the relative complexity of finding and measuring the maximum size of defects from images obtained during B scanning, since in this case it is necessary to sequentially view several images of product sections, the receipt of which is associated with the installation of the converter at the reference point. The time spent on these operations can be 2 to 4 minutes.
The main technical task of the invention is to increase the speed of inspection of the size of defects in two-dimensional ultrasound images obtained during the scanning, as well as a significant simplification of the control method. The problem is solved in that at least three images forming the group obtained by B scanning are summed into one image and, if there is a defect in it, they “look through” all the ultrasound images of this group “by sheet”, by which the size of the defect is estimated.
Joint use in the proposed ultrasonic method of monitoring products and materials from ultrasound images of known and distinctive features allows to obtain a new technical result, which consists in increasing the speed of control and simplifying the control method.
Comparative analysis with the prototype shows that the claimed method meets the criterion of "novelty."
The functional block diagram of the control method can be implemented, for example, by scanning a weld according to the scheme shown in the drawing, where 1 is a controlled product; 2 - bath; 3 - generator; 4 - combined ultrasonic transducer; 5 - weld; 6 - stepper motors; 7 - control unit; 8 - amplifier; 9 - analog-to-digital Converter (ADC); 10 - block accumulation and processing of information; 11 - display.
The ultrasonic method of controlling products and materials by ultrasound images is as follows: the controlled product 1 is placed in a bath of water 2, the electrical pulses from the generator 3 are fed to the transducer 4, reciprocating across the weld 5 from the stepper motor 6 by commands from the block control 7. Ultrasonic pulses from the transducer 4 fall on the surface of the product 1, in which elastic vibrations are excited, reflected from the outer and inner surfaces of the product spruce, as well as from various heterogeneities. The product moves from the stepper motor 6. The received signals and the coordinates of the reflectors through the amplifier 8 and the ADC 9 are fed to the control unit 7, from which they are fed to the information storage and processing unit 10, where ultrasound images are obtained obtained by B and C scanning. Viewing of images is carried out on the display 11. In order to speed up the control, the images obtained during B scanning are summarized in groups into one that the flaw detectorist is viewing. Only if there is a defect in one total image, the flaw detector will look through all the images in this one group "sheet". The time spent on finding the image with the maximum size of the defect, with this method of control is reduced by 0.5 ÷ 3 minutes (compared with the prototype).
The proposed method is tested on the contact-butt seams of flat parts with a thickness of 5 mm. Summing up ten ultrasound images into one showed that the artificial defect in the form of drilling with a diameter of 2 mm is clearly visible in the total image. The maximum drilling sizes were measured from the fourth image in this group. The measured drilling depth in the ultrasound image was 2.6 mm, which corresponded to direct measurements with a dial gauge.
Thus, the use of the proposed ultrasonic control method for ultrasound images provides a new technical result, compared to the existing control method, consisting in:
a) speeding up the control process by 0.5 ÷ 3 minutes, which is especially important with 100% control of serial products, where the control cycle should not exceed (30-50) seconds.
б) упрощается способ контроля изделий при оценке размеров дефектов по ультразвуковым изображениям сечений контролируемых изделий. b) the method of product inspection is simplified when assessing the size of defects according to ultrasound images of sections of controlled products.
