Abstract
Description
The invention relates to paints and varnishes, in particular to water-dispersion paints (VDK) based on acrylic latexes.
С. 883116, А.С. 1162844). Known domestic VDK and compositions for coatings based on various acrylate latexes (A.S. 883116, A.S. 1162844).
The disadvantages of these materials are low decorative qualities, in particular gloss, insufficiently high impact resistance to paint coatings, the inability to use non-primed metal for decorative and protective painting. Well-known foreign acrylate VDKs also do not have all of the above set of properties (Japanese application 57-128756, US patent 5256724, AS 262523 Czechoslovakia).

The copolymer composition of acrylic latex is determined by the amount of comonomers introduced in the synthesis. The ethoxylated alkyl phenol OP-7 or OP-10 (GOST 8433-81) is the product of processing a mixture of mono- and dialkylphenols with ethylene oxide of the general formula C 6 H 4 RO (CH 2 CH 2 O) • n CH 2 CH 2 OH (where R - an alkyl residue containing 8-12 carbon atoms; n is 7-9 for OP-7 and 10-12 for OP-10).
All paint components are produced by domestic industry. A copolymer of acrylic acid, acrylamide, N-methylolacrylamide is obtained by sequential treatment of an aqueous solution of polyacrylamide with an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide or carbonate and a water-methanol solution of formaldehyde (formalin). Depending on the degree of hydrolysis of the starting polyacrylamide (the content of acrylic acid in it), the molar ratio of polyacrylamide: alkaline agent: formaldehyde is 1: 0.05: 0.4 - 1: 0.2: 0.6. The mixture is stirred at a temperature of (35 + 5) o C for 2 hours. The finished product is a copolymer of acrylic acid, acrylamide, N-methylolacrylamide in a mass ratio of 5-25: 45-85: 10-30. The qualitative and quantitative composition of the copolymer was determined by the content of functional groups by chemical and physicochemical methods (spectroscopy, volumetric titration, gas chromatography). As a thickener, a (2.0 ± 0.5)% copolymer solution is used.
The technological process of paint production consists of preparing an aqueous solution of a thickener, a surfactant, a dispersant, sodium nitrite, preliminary mixing of pigment paste and dispersing it in a bead mill, mixing paste and latex (emulsion).
2.The paint is applied to wooden, plastered, previously painted surfaces or non-primed metal substrates with a spray gun, brush or other methods. The paint consumption for a two-layer coating with a thickness of 60-80 microns is 80-120 g / m 2 .
The composition and properties of the proposed paint and prototype are shown in the table.
2.The properties of the proposed paint are determined according to the normative and technical documentation for paints and varnishes. A comparative assessment of the paints was carried out according to the characteristics by which the present invention surpasses the prototype (gloss, impact strength, resistance to water exposure on uncoated metal substrates) and a number of basic characteristics: viscosity, degree of grinding, content of non-volatile substances, drying time, elasticity at bending, adhesion, resistance of the coating to the static effects of water on wooden substrates. According to GOST 28196-89, the VD-AK-111 paint after drying forms an opaque film. The gloss value of such coatings according to GOST 9.032-74 is <19%. In terms of other characteristics, the proposed water-dispersion paint does not differ from the prototype: hiding power - not more than 100 g / m 2 , pH - 8-9, frost resistance - not less than 5 cycles, conditional light resistance - not more than 5%, washability - not more than 2 g / m 2 .
The test results of the proposed paint show that it has a higher gloss and impact strength compared to the prototype and provides water resistance on uncoated metal substrates (see table).
Improving the decorative, physico-mechanical and protective properties of coatings on non-primed metal substrates allows us to expand the field of application of environmentally friendly water-dispersion paints: traditionally in construction and also for protective and decorative painting of metal products in mechanical engineering.
