Description
The invention relates to processes for preparing water for drinking and industrial water supply, wastewater treatment, disinfection and activation of water. The invention can be used for the synthesis of chemical compounds, the activation of liquid and powder materials, for cleaning, disinfecting and treating various surfaces.
A known method of water purification and a device for its implementation (RF patent N 2004500, class C 02 F 1/46, 03 C 5/00, publ. 15.12.93, BI N 45-46). According to this method, water is treated with high-voltage voltage pulses at a voltage rise rate of not more than 2 • 10 6 V / s and a voltage drop rate of at least 2 • 10 4 V / s, and the voltage is selected in the range (7 - 30) • 10 3 V The water purification device includes a chamber for the liquid to be treated, a high voltage energy source, high voltage and grounded electrodes. High voltage electrodes are made with lateral protrusions directed to one side. In order to increase the cleaning speed by creating an intensive circulation of water in the device, the grounded electrode is made partitioned with protrusions directed to one side on the side surface of each section.
The disadvantages of this method of water treatment are high energy costs associated with large losses in Joule heating at the indicated exposure times of voltage pulses, low pulse repetition rate of 5-30 Hz, which reduces the processing performance. In addition, not all water is exposed to the treatment, but only the part adjacent to the discharge channel, which reduces the treatment effect.
The disadvantages of the device are the limited number of discharge channels and, as a result, not all water is exposed to processing, but only the part adjacent to the discharge channels, which reduces the processing effect; low life of insulation and electrodes.
The closest in technical essence to the proposed solutions is the method and device described in the article: Ryazanov ND, Minenkov VR "A study of the effectiveness of disinfection and purification of water by plasma of an AC arc in a water-air mixture" in Sat. "Water and wastewater treatment". Tomsk, 1994, p. 19-23. This method includes treating water in a water-air medium with high voltage electric discharges.
The disadvantages of this method are: the formation of contracted spark channels and, as a result, the high specific energy consumption for water treatment, as well as low productivity due to the insufficiently large treatment zone surrounding the discharge channel, because not all water is exposed to processing, but only the part adjacent to the discharge channel. Another disadvantage of this method is the increase in the concentration of nitrogen compounds (nitrates, nitrites).
A well-known water treatment reactor consists of a casing, an electrode system, water supply and outlet pipes, an input pipe is located on the housing cover, an output pipe is on its bottom, a horizontal perforated partition is located in the upper part of the body for dispersing the water flow.
The disadvantage of this reactor is the complexity of the device, high energy consumption, low life of the insulation of electrode systems and electrodes.
The main technical problem to be solved by the claimed method and device is to improve the quality of the water obtained by increasing the efficiency of water treatment, which allows clarifying and purifying water (up to the requirements of GOST 2874-82 "Drinking water"), and reducing energy costs for the process. The efficiency of water treatment by electric discharges is determined by the size of the zone occupied by the channels of electric discharges in comparison with the volumes of treated water, the intensity of ultraviolet radiation, the concentration of ozone and other active particles formed in the discharge. When treating water with discharges according to the method proposed in the prototype, water is exposed to spark discharges arising between two metal electrodes. There can be several such pairs of electrodes. To expand the zone occupied by the discharges, water is supplied to the interelectrode gap in the form of jets and drops formed by a special partition with holes. In this case, the discharge channel is divided into several parts burning in the gas gaps between the water jets and along the jet at the points of its rupture. And although this solution allows you to significantly expand the zone occupied by the discharge, it still remains quite limited. Since water remains a liquid that conducts electric current well and it is not possible to protect the insulation located in the reactor from the effects of water, the life of this insulation remains low and significant energy losses associated with water and wet surfaces leakage are retained. The cost of electricity for water treatment in the prototype in the best case is 0.12 kW • h / m 3 . In our technical solution, the parameters of the pulse of electric energy supplied to the electrode system are selected so that the conductivity of water under these conditions decreases sharply, water becomes a liquid that does not conduct electric current well. This leads to the fact that losses associated with water conductivity are reduced, and the life of the insulation increases sharply. In the proposed design of the electrode system, a barrier discharge occurs, consisting of many microdischarges developing on the surface of droplets and jets of water. The discharge becomes almost voluminous. Moreover, the entire stream of water, each drop and each element of any stream is subjected to processing. This leads to the fact that compared with the prototype increases the efficiency of water treatment and more than 2 times reduced energy costs for water treatment.
It is also advisable to perform electrode systems in the form of two combs containing at least one electrode.

In FIG. 1 shows a water treatment reactor; in FIG. 2 - electrode system of the reactor.
13. The reactor consists of a housing 1, in the upper part of which there is a node for creating a gas-water mixture 2, an electrode system 3, located under a node for creating a gas-gas mixture 2 and a node for removing the gas-gas mixture 4, located under the electrode system 3. The node for creating the gas-gas mixture 2 includes an aerator 5, ejector 6, water inlet 7 and air and gas outlet pipes 8. The aerator 5 is connected to the fan 9. The water-gas mixture outlet 4 includes a after-reaction chamber 10, at the outlet of which an ejector 11 and an outlet pipe 12 are installed. To the electrode system 3 connected to a high-voltage pulse generator 13.
The reactor operates as follows. The treated water is supplied to the ejector 6, sprayed into droplets and mixed with air. The resulting water-air flow enters the aerator 5, where it is additionally mixed with the air supplied to the aerator 5 by the fan 9. Water flows down the aerator gratings from top to bottom, and air is supplied from bottom to top. This provides the best mixing of water with oxygen. In this case, easily oxidized impurities are oxidized (for example, Fe, Mn are partially oxidized), hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, methane and other gases are removed, and the organoleptic characteristics of water are improved. The thus prepared air-water stream enters the zone of location of the electrodes 3, where it is processed by electric discharges with the given parameters. Power is supplied to the electrodes from a high-voltage pulse generator 13. In the discharge zone, on the surface of droplets and jets, ozone, ultraviolet radiation, and many active particles are produced. All this contributes to a deeper oxidation of impurities, the decomposition of some organic compounds (phenol, methanol, ...) to CO 2 and water, and disinfection of water. Odor is completely removed, the water becomes clear and acquires a pleasant taste. Water treated with electric discharges enters the after-treatment chamber 10. Like the aerator 5, the after-treatment chamber is filled with gratings (chord nozzles) to increase the contact time and better mixing of water with ozone. Iron oxidized in the aeration system, passing through the electrode system 3, is activated and acquires the properties of a highly efficient adsorbent, on which many impurities are sorbed. Subsequently, these contaminants, together with iron, are easily captured by the filter. For additional mixing of water with ozone, enhancing coagulation of oxidized contaminants, an ejector 11 is installed at the outlet of the pre-reaction chamber. Next, the water treated in the described manner through the outlet pipe 12 enters the filtration system for clarification.
In FIG. 2 shows a variant of the arrangement of the electrode system 3. The electrode system is made of
In the reactor for water treatment according to the proposed method, water containing various contaminants was treated. The reactor had overall dimensions in the cross section of 400 x 500 mm. The height of the reactor is 3500 mm. The electrode system was made of stainless steel with a diameter of 1.5 mm. The distance between the electrodes was 7 mm. Electrodes were worn with insulating barriers in the form of quartz glass tubes. The outer diameter of the tubes is 5 mm, the wall thickness is 1.5 mm. The distance between the barrier and the electrode was in the range 0 - 0.25 mm. The electrodes were located at two levels vertically, 41 electrodes were installed in each level. The height of the electrode system h was 50 mm. The velocity of water in the region of the electrodes is about 1 m / s. The processing conditions were as follows. The treatment was subjected to water containing E. coli to concentrations of 10 5 cells / L, phenol in an amount of 0.2 mg / L, trichlorethylene in an amount of 0.03 mg / L, manganese in an amount of 0.25 mg / L, lead in an amount of 0, 1 mg / l, copper in an amount of 2.0 mg / l, aluminum in an amount of 2.5 mg / l. For processing, 10 m 3 of water per hour was supplied. Voltage pulses with different amplitudes, durations and repetition rates were applied to the electrodes. In this case, the steepness of the pulse front was not less than 10 9 V / s. At a lower slope of the pulse front, the energy costs associated with high conductivity of water increase sharply. When the ratio of the amplitude of the pulse voltage to the distance between the electrodes is less than 2 • 10 3 V / mm, the discharge between the electrodes does not ignite, and the water is not treated. And when the ratio of the amplitude of the pulse voltage to the distance between the electrodes is more than 10 • 10 3 V / mm, the arrangement of the generator and the transmission line is complicated. The reliability of the equipment decreases and the energy consumption increases.
1 и 2. The treated water was fed to a sand-gravel loading filter, where it was clarified. Samples of treated water after the reactor and samples of clarified water after the filter were taken for analysis. The data obtained are given in table. 1 and 2.
In the table. Figure 1 shows the results obtained at a high-frequency pulse repetition rate of 1000 pulses / s. The frequency was chosen from the condition f ≥ 50 v / h, where v is the flow rate of the water-gas mixture in the region of the electrodes, v = 1 m / s, h is the height of the electrode system, h = 50 mm. Then f = 1000 pulses / s.
From the table. Figure 1 shows that when the duration of high-voltage pulses is not more than 0.5 • 10 -6 s, the energy consumption for water treatment decreases and the efficiency of water treatment for the main components improves.
In the table. 2 shows the results on the content of impurities (mg / l) in the treated water, depending on the pulse repetition rate at a pulse duration of t and = 0.2 • 10 -6 s.
From the table. 2 it follows that the content of impurities in the treated water decreases at a pulse repetition rate of at least 50 imp./s.
