Abstract
Description
The invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to a technology for the manufacture of solid-rolled railway wheels.
A known method for the manufacture of solid-rolled railway wheels [1], including hot plastic deformation, curing after deformation to 350 - 400 o C, followed by heating to isothermal holding temperature, holding at a temperature of 600 - 650 o C, cooling in air to workshop temperature, mechanical processing, hardening and tempering.
There is also known a method of manufacturing railway wheels, aimed at reducing flock sensitivity [2]. The method includes additionally performing operations after the end of plastic deformation before isothermal exposure. The essence of this operation is as follows: after rolling, the wheel is cooled to 450 - 500 o C, then it is heated to Ac 3 + / 30 - 40 o / and exposure is done to ensure phase transformations and then it is cooled to the temperature of isothermal exposure. A decrease in flocosensitivity is achieved by recrystallization of steel, a decrease in the size of austenite grain, in comparison with the size of austenite grain after rolling, and an increase in the mobility of atomic hydrogen.
The disadvantage of the technological process according to the method [1] is the duration and energy consumption, however, intermediate cooling to the shop temperature between isothermal holding operations and quenching heating does not ensure the continuity of the isothermal holding process, which does not fully guarantee the absence of flocs.
The disadvantage of the technology according to method 2 is that it provides an additional operation - recrystallization of the product after the end of hot deformation before isothermal exposure. The number of technological operations in this technology option is increasing, in addition, the continuity of the isothermal aging process is not ensured, since after isothermal aging the product is cooled to the temperature of the workshop.
As a prototype adopted a method of manufacturing railway wheels at the factory ZDV in the Czech Republic [3]. After the end of hot plastic deformation, isothermal exposure is carried out for 4 hours at a temperature of 600 o C, heated to a hardening temperature, hardening, tempering and machining of the wheels.
The disadvantage of the technology of the prototype is the high energy intensity of the process.
The objective of the invention is to provide a method for the manufacture of solid-rolled railway wheels, which reduces energy consumption and the process by reducing the duration of isothermal exposure.
The technical result is achieved by the fact that after the end of the hot plastic deformation, cooling is performed below Ar 1 by 70 - 320 ° C and after holding to equalize the temperature, they are heated to the austenitization temperature, holding at this temperature, thermal hardening and tempering, the tempering operation being combined with the operation isothermal hold at least the duration of the last 3 hours, and austenitizing at temperature above Ac 3 for 40 - 100 o C. Cooling after hot deformation or elastic e Ar 1 70 - 320 o C / 400 - 650 o C / allows the austenite-pearlite transformation of the minimum time in conditions of industrial use of the method. Subsequent heating above Ac 3 at 40 - 100 o C and exposure at this temperature / 820 - 880 o C / allow you to grind the grain during the conversion of perlite to austenite and prepare the structure for heat hardening. The limitation of the heating temperature in the range of 820 - 880 o C is associated with the need to form austenitic grains in the steel before heat hardening 7 - 8 points.
Increasing the length of leave operations, combined with the isothermal exposure, from 2 to 3 hours in combination with grain size of 7 - 8 points and isothermal hold continuity of the process allows to achieve a residual content of hydrogen at 2 cm 3 / 100g metal.
Thus, the proposed method allows to reduce the number of technological operations by combining the operation of isothermal aging and tempering, while ensuring the continuity of the process, since the isothermal aging is carried out by heating under quenching and continues in the process of tempering combined with isothermal aging.
For industrial testing of the method, ingot billets of open-hearth steel of the following composition were selected: carbon 0.6, manganese 0.72, silicon 0.24. The impurity content was within the limits of GOST 10791-89. The billets were heated to a temperature of 1250 o C for five hours, then deformed on the press and the rolling mill. After the end of the hot plastic deformation, the billets were cooled on an operating conveyor to 420 o C / Ar 1 = 300 o C / and held for exposure to equalize the temperature of the wheel elements. Then the wheels were heated to a temperature of 840 o C / Ac 3 - 60 o C / and after exposure at this temperature produced intermittent hardening of the rim for 130 seconds. The tempering operation was combined with isothermal aging and carried out at a temperature of 830 o C for 3 hours.
The hydrogen content in the experimental wheel rim, treated via the present invention was 1.5 - 2 cm 3 / 100g metal.
For comparison, the technology of the prototype was made several wheels from blanks with the same chemical composition. The initial hydrogen content was identical, since the metal was taken from one heat. The difference in the processing of the wheels according to the prototype technology was that after the end of the hot plastic deformation, isothermal exposure was performed for 4 hours at a temperature of 600 o C, and the duration of the tempering operation was 2 hours. The value of the actual grain of the wheels received for isothermal exposure was 2 to 3 points. With this grain size, the mobility of atomic hydrogen is much lower than by the proposed method, in which isothermal exposure is carried out at a real grain size of 7-8 points.
Analysis of the residual hydrogen content in the RV, treated with the prototype of technology was 2 - 2.5 cm 3 / 100g metal. The total duration of the heating operations using the technology of the prototype, including isothermal aging, heating to the hardening temperature and tempering was 7 hours, at the same time, according to the proposed method, this time was 4 hours due to the reduction of the isothermal aging operation before the heating operation for hardening.
Thus, the proposed method reduces the number of technological operations by combining isothermal soaking and tempering operations at a residual content of hydrogen in steel of 1.5 - 2 cm 3/100 g
