Abstract

FIELD: agriculture and construction. SUBSTANCE: method implies seeding of ground with grass, watering by spraying, hand weeding, and regular mowing of grass. After sowing of grass, irrigation by water spraying is effected twice per day. First mowing is carried out in dry weather at grass height of 8-10 cm. Further mowing procedures are performed at grass height not over 12 cm down to height not below 4-6 cm. After each use of grass-covered ground, damaged spots of it are repaired by way of raking and adding special soil mixture containing grass seeds, and each watering is performed to soil depth of 1-3 cm. Maintenance soil mixture has following components, mass %: chernozem - 60-80, peat - 35-18, dry softwood sawdust - 5-10. Entire surface of ground is periodically levelled by spreading maintenance soil mixture without seeds. Resodding of damaged spots is effected. Mowing is carried out not later than one day before use of ground. Last mowing in season is done with possibility of grass growing before coming of frost. Mineral fertilizer is introduced 5-10 days before use of ground. Before introduction of fertilizer, ground is shoveled. At application of fertilizer, it is washed off from leaves into soil with daily intensive watering of ground during 3-4 days.  The invention relates to agriculture and construction, namely, to the creation of grass cover for sports fields and fields and the care of it, which allows to maintain the quality of grass cover.

A known method of caring for the grass of open sports grounds, which consists in sowing the ground, watering it and mowing the grass [1]
However, the known method does not contain the entire complex of necessary measures that allows you to create high-quality grass cover that can withstand heavy loads when using a sports field.

Closest to the invention is a method of creating grassy lawn cover, including sowing the site, irrigation, manual weeding and regular mowing of the grass [2]
But the recommendations described in this method are also not sufficient to create high-quality grass cover.

 The objective of the invention is to improve the quality of grass lawn cover outdoor sports grounds, preservation and improvement of its properties for a long time, which, in turn, reduces the cost of maintaining outdoor sports grounds, and allows you to postpone the cost of major repairs. That is, in the process of caring for the lawn covering of the sports ground, it is necessary to form and maintain in the ground part of the lawn cover a solid, closed, low weed-free weed, and in the underground a dense weave of fibrous root systems, rhizomes and base of shoots forming an even elastic and strong sod .

 To maintain the coating in good condition, it is necessary to periodically apply mineral fertilizers, but it is better to do this 5-10 days before using the site. The application of mineral fertilizers will be more effective if the bayonet is poured before they are applied.

 To exclude a chemical burn of the grass, it is necessary to immediately flush their leaves and stems of the grass into the soil when applying fertilizers, and carry out intensive daily watering for 3-4 days. To aerate the soil plant layer, it is necessary to regularly pierce the resulting turf with a hedgehog roller or a special manual sod prick.

 The described method is as follows.

 The first care work begins after sowing the site. It is necessary to enclose and exclude unauthorized persons from walking on it.

 In the first month after sowing, maintenance work is limited to daily two-time watering from an irrigation car moving around the site along a treadmill. Watering should be done in such a way that the water gets into the soil in the form of small sprayed drops. In no case is it a continuous stream, since it can erode the upper layer of soil not fortified with roots, which will lead to leaching of seeds from the plant layer. Watering is carried out to a depth of I-3 cm. It is very important for swelling and nibbling of seeds so that the topsoil is moist all the time. Watering to a greater depth is not advisable, since the soil does not have time to dry before games and training. In the morning, on the day of the game, watering is not carried out.  When caring for the field in the hot season, special attention is paid to regular morning and evening artificial watering. If it rains heavily and continuously, then watering is not carried out these days.

 In no case should you take a break in irrigation during hot weather and allow the soil to dry out and “burn out” the grass, since after this the grass stand is very difficult to recover.

 The first seedlings appear 9-20 days after sowing. Among the seedlings, sprouts of weeds (dandelion, horsetail, yarrow, horse sorrel, etc.) also appear. Weeds must be removed immediately, before they have developed their root system. They are removed only by hand weeding, using a garden knife with great care, strictly vertical movement of the hand, so as not to leave roots in the soil and not to take along with weeds of cultivated plants. It is not recommended to use herbicides to remove weeds, this can harm the young lawn. If thinning places or a surface without emergence appear as a result of the weeding, it is necessary to sow these places carefully, without touching adjacent areas, to sow and fix with a special soil repair mixture intended for maintenance.

 When the height of the grass reaches 8-10 cm, the first mowing of the grass is done by the lawn mower. Subsequently, the grass is mowed to a height of at least 4-6 cm once or twice a week. The height of the grass should not exceed 10-12 cm, so that its terrestrial shoots do not become too stiff.

 The first mowing is carried out only in dry weather. Mowed grass is carefully removed, preferably with a wooden rake, and carried off the field. Timely mowing favorably affects the growth and development of cereals, enhances their tillering.

 On the commissioned site, after each use, it is necessary to carry out repair work on damaged areas of the coating.

 The day after each game, workers break the entire site into strips 3-4 meters wide and rake along the strips of all the knocked out grass captured by the rake. Grass is removed from the field. When caring for the coating, it is very important to regularly and correctly rake the site. Wooden and metal rakes are often the only tool with which you can fix damage to the turf, level the surface, and sow the seeds in the soil. A metal rake is used in all cases when it is necessary to plow the turf, free it from dead parts of plants (this is done, for example, in spring), level the soil surface, destroy the crust if it appears on the field surface, to improve soil aeration. Wooden rakes are used for gentle operation of the grass stand, harvesting mowed grass, seeding seeds in the soil, when sowing, etc.

 After the raking is completed, the buckets are filled with the repair soil mixture with seeds and, moving in strips, the holes and cavities knocked out in the turf are filled with this mixture and slightly compacted the filled mixture, precisely leveling its level with the surface of the site. This responsible work should be carried out by experienced operators, since if the filling is done carelessly and the mixture gets into neighboring unbroken areas, bumps and bumps may form on the surface of the site, which is unacceptable. In the evening of the same day, the repaired areas are watered with water along with the entire surface of the site. This work is carried out the day after each game and training.

After the end of the season, land surveying is carried out with the aim of both leveling and sheltering the turf and providing grass nutrition in the next season.

 The repair mixture on the site is poured out in equal portions on the surface. Then, the repair mixture is leveled with the trowels, covering the surface of the site with an even layer about 1-3 cm thick.

 After zapping, the soil is left loose, not pinned, not watered until the beginning of the next season so that the layer of the repair mixture does not lose its heat-insulating properties and ensures the preservation of heat in the soil and favorable conditions for wintering grasses.

 In cases where certain sections of the site, especially the central part, the penalty areas and the goal area, need to be distorted, the modification begins with the removal of the damaged turf in any part of the site. Then, pre-cut turf plates are placed on this place. The turf is cut manually with a shovel or special turf cutter. The width of the turf plate is 20-30 cm, the length is 30-40 cm, the thickness is 8-10 cm. At the place of laying, the brought plates are calibrated with shovels or on a machine.
