Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the purification of gases from impurities using adsorbents, and more specifically to the purification of air from water vapor, carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons before its separation by low-temperature rectification.
A known method of controlling the process of regeneration of the adsorbent (as on application No. 2786981/26, class B 01 D 53/02, 1979) by switching the adsorbers from the adsorption stage to the desorption stage, depending on the temperature of the regenerating gas after the adsorbent and the total flow rate of the regenerating gas passing through the adsorber.
The disadvantage of this method of process control is that the duration of the desorption stage and its parameters (temperature of the regenerating gas and its flow rate) are not associated in any way with the adsorption stage and lead to an increase in energy consumption for the adsorption purification process.
The closest in technical essence and the achieved positive effect to the proposed invention is a method for automatically controlling the adsorbent regeneration process (as.with. N 854424, class B 01 D 53/02, G 05 D 27/00, 1979) by switching the adsorbers from the stage adsorption to the desorption stage, depending on the temperature of the regenerating gas after the adsorbent is cooled * in addition, the temperature of the regenerating gas supplied to cool the adsorbent is additionally measured and adjusted with a correction for the temperature of the regenerating ha after the cooled adsorbent.
The disadvantage of this method is that the conditions for the regeneration and its time do not take into account possible changes in the parameters of the adsorption process. In addition, carrying out regeneration with increasing temperature of the regenerating gas at the outlet of the adsorber leads to significant heat losses, which increases energy consumption and reduces the reliability of the method due to the impossibility of an immediate response to changes in adsorption parameters.
The aim of the invention is to reduce energy consumption and increase reliability.
This goal is achieved by the fact that in the method for automatically controlling the adsorption purification process by switching the adsorbers with the adsorbent layer placed on them from the adsorption stage to the desorption stage and vice versa, it is new that the flow rate, the temperature of the regenerating gas and the adsorbent heating time at the desorption stage are controlled in depending on the flow rate, temperature and pressure of the gas to be purified, measured at the previous adsorption stage, and the time of the subsequent adsorption stage is regulated depending on the flow rate of the regeneration gas and its temperature at the inlet and outlet of the adsorber with additional correction according to the measured time of working out the adsorbent layer at the current stage of adsorption.
Thus, the proposed technical solution meets the criteria of the invention of "novelty."
The invention consists in the following.
During the cleaning process, the flow rate, pressure, temperature of the cleaned air and the time of working out the adsorption layer of a certain length to a given breakthrough concentration of carbon dioxide in the purified gas are measured.
According to the measured parameters using a microprocessor or minicomputer, the parameters of the desorption process are set: desorption temperature; the amount of regenerating gas and the heating time of the adsorbent, ensuring the desorption process with minimal energy consumption.
During the desorption process, the actual temperature and flow rate of the regenerating gas are measured, and the time of the subsequent adsorption process is determined by the measured parameters.
Thus, during complex gas purification in adsorbers, an unambiguous relationship is established between the parameters of the adsorption and desorption processes, which makes the purification process stable and reliable and makes it possible to carry it out with minimal energy consumption.
A comparative analysis showed that the known technical solutions do not have features similar to those that distinguish the proposed technical solution from the prototype.
Therefore, the proposed method for automatically controlling the adsorption purification process meets the criteria of the invention "industrial applicability".

1). The proposed method for automatically controlling the adsorption purification process is implemented as follows (see Fig. 1).
The gas to be purified is piped through 4 to the adsorber 1, where it, passing through the

1. The regenerating gas taken from the air separation unit is fed through
The automatic control process begins at the first, after primary desorption, adsorption stage.
Data on the measured values of the flow rate, pressure and temperature of the purified gas from the devices 12, 13, 14 are transmitted (thin lines in Fig. 1) to the microprocessor 19, where, according to the corresponding algorithm, the duration of the adsorption stage, the flow rate, the temperature of the regenerating gas, and the heating time of the adsorbent are calculated during desorption. At the adsorption stage, its time is specified by measuring the time of carbon dioxide leakage in the intermediate adsorbent layer of the working adsorber (device 15), and desorption parameters (temperature, flow rate of the regenerating gas, and heating time of the adsorbent) are also specified.
According to the calculated values, the corresponding commands are transmitted to the program-time device 20 (dashed lines in FIG. 1), the electric heater 6 and the flow regulator 7. During the next desorption stage, the actual flow rates of the regenerating gas, its temperature at the inlet and outlet of the adsorber are measured (respectively devices 17, 18, 19) and the heating time of the adsorbent.
Using the measured values of the desorption parameters by the microprocessor 19, the parameters of the subsequent adsorption stage are calculated. Then the whole process is repeated.
In FIG. Figure 2 shows the experimental established relationship between the parameters of adsorption and desorption. The values of the relative heating time of the adsorption layer θ and the proportion of regenerating gas from the amount of gas to be purified from adsorption temperature t ads .
The graph shows that at the same desorption temperature and a constant fraction of the regenerating gas, with an increase in the adsorption temperature, the relative heating time of the adsorbent should increase in a certain way.
If the adsorbent heating time remains constant, for example, 0.4 τ ads (τ ads is the adsorption time), then an increase in the adsorption temperature at a certain desorption temperature requires a mandatory increase in the relative fraction of the regenerating gas.
The established relationship indicates that there is an unambiguous relationship between the process parameters. The choice of these parameters arbitrarily, without taking into account this relationship, leads either to unjustifiably increased energy costs, or to the inability to implement the adsorption-desorption cycle.
In FIG. 3 shows the dependence of the adsorption time (where adsorption time at a temperature of the gas to be purified +5 o C) from the temperature of the regenerating gas t reg in the mode of minimum energy consumption.
It can be seen from the graph that, along with the influence of adsorption parameters (flow rate, pressure and temperature of the purified gas) on the desorption parameters (flow rate, regenerating gas temperature and adsorbent heating time), the desorption parameters in turn affect the adsorption parameters.
So at a constant temperature of the gas being purified, depending on the temperature of the regenerating gas, the time of the subsequent adsorption stage will change. With decreasing temperature of the regenerating gas, the time of the subsequent adsorption stage is reduced.
Thus, the experimental results confirm the possibility of implementing automatic control of the process of adsorption gas purification.
Based on the established relationship between the parameters, an automatic control algorithm was developed and its experimental verification was carried out. The results of this check are presented in the table.

The energy consumption will be reduced by more than 2 times.
