Abstract
Description
The invention relates to ecology, specifically to the ecology of nuclear energy, and can be used for the purification of liquid radioactive waste from radionuclides.
Known ion-exchange methods for cleaning waste solutions of the nuclear industry from radionuclides with the help of organic sorbents of sulfocationite and anionite. The disadvantage of these methods is their low efficiency in relation to one of the most dangerous radionuclides of cesium (134 + 137) and
It is known to use natural and synthetic inorganic sorbents for purifying radionuclides of different salinity solutions [2] The disadvantage of this method is a significant deterioration in the sorption-selective properties of inorganic zeolite sorbents with a change in the salt composition and pH of solutions, which leads to a sharp decrease in purification.
The closest to the proposed technical essence and the achieved result is a method of purifying solutions of radionuclides, including passing them through a sorbent, which is a type A zeolite or tetravalent metal hydroxide [3] In this method, solutions of radionuclides are purified by passing them through brand zeolites CMP, CPB, or titanium or manganese hydroxides. The disadvantage of this method is the relatively low cleaning rates. So, with a purification coefficient (K Pts ) equal to 100, no more than 700 column volumes (co-solution volumes equal to the sorbent volume) of the initial solution are purified.
The objective of the invention is to increase the volume and degree of purification of solutions from radionuclides.
The problem is solved by the present method of purifying solutions of radionuclides, including passing them first through a ferrocyanide sorbent NZHA, Selex-CFN, MZHA or Selex-CFM (TU 95 2385-92), and then through type A zeolite or a tetravalent metal hydroxide, in the quality of which is used zirconium, titanium or manganese hydroxide, additionally containing an inert binder.
A distinctive feature of the method is that before passing the solutions through a type A zeolite or a tetravalent metal hydroxide, they are passed through a ferrocyanide sorbent of the NZhA, Selex-CFN, MZha or Selex-CFM brands.
Another difference of the method lies in the fact that zirconium hydroxide titanium or manganese is used as the hydroxide.
Another difference of the method is that the tetravalent metal hydroxide additionally contains an inert binder.
These differences provide a simultaneous increase in the degree of purification and the volume of the solution purified from radionuclides.
Moreover, it was found that if, when passing through the same solution containing cesium and strontium radionuclides at the level of 10 -5 -10 -7 Ku / l, purification with a coefficient of (K pts ) ≥10 is achieved through type A zeolite 2 about 600 k.o. in relation to strontium and about 1000 k.o. with respect to cesium, then the preliminary passage of the solution through the sorbents of NZhA, or MZhA, Selex-CFN, Selex-CFM allows you to bring the volume of the purified solution (without reducing To Pts. ) up to 2.5-4 thousand KO those. increase it in relation to strontium 5-8 times. The reverse sequence of transmission does not.
The effectiveness of the described method is illustrated by the following examples.

As can be seen from the above example, the LRW purification process according to the proposed method allows to increase the volume of purified solutions by 2.5–4 times and the degree of their purification from cesium and strontium radionuclides.
The simultaneous achievement of two important indicators of purification allows us to consider this sorption-selective method of purification as an effective way of disposal in the most compact form of long-lived radionuclides of cesium and strontium.
