Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to teaching aids, and in particular to a method for reading musical and textual information.
The invention can be most effectively used for consumers whose work involves the processing of a large amount of textual information.
At present, the problem of speeding up the process of teaching fast reading has become very urgent. This can be achieved by involuntary adaptation of the student to expand the angle of view (field of view). However, in the learning process, the transition from one stage to another should contain a small degree of new. The smaller this degree, the faster the transition to the next stage of training is possible.
Currently, all known methods of teaching speed reading are a process in which the student must first learn how to use lateral vision when reading, and only then master the very method of vertical reading. To master these methods, special simulator devices are needed, and the learning process itself is very long.
A known method of teaching fast reading (see source), in which information is read by moving the text information medium relative to the student’s eyes with a gradual increase in the sign capacity of the lines of text information.
By changing the speed of movement of the text information medium, the student selects the optimal speed of moving lines of text and reads the entire line without moving his eyes along it. The length of the line (sign capacity) on the medium gradually increases, which leads to a gradual expansion of the lateral angle of the student.
A significant disadvantage of this method is that the lateral angle of the student expands only after very long workouts. In addition, a change in the speed of movement of textual information does not cause the learner to automatically get used to an expanding field of view. A gradual increase in the sign capacity of the text does not take into account the individual abilities of the student, but puts him before the fact of increasing the length of the line, regardless of whether he managed or did not have time to adapt with the previous increase in the length of the line.
And finally, the disadvantage of this method is the need to manufacture a device for its implementation and the tape carrier of text information used in this device, which makes the device inaccessible to ordinary consumers.
The basis of the invention is the creation of a method of teaching fast reading, which would ensure the expansion of the field of view of the student, taking into account his individual abilities of perception of textual information.
This is solved by the fact that in the method of teaching fast reading, which consists in reading information by relative movement of the text information medium and the student’s eyes while gradually increasing the sign capacity of the lines of text information according to the invention, information is read by vertically moving the student’s eyes relative to the stationary information carrier moreover, the lines of textual information are arranged on the medium in groups, each of which has the same sign capacity in seconds lines, different from other groups, and the number of lines in each group is selected depending on the adaptation of the student to an expanding field of text information.
The present invention allows the student to first get used to vertical reading, and then to expand the angle of view.
When using this method does not require a large investment of time for training, there is no need to visit special schools and purchase special training devices. For teaching fast reading according to the proposed method, it is necessary to read books of text information carriers in which the text is printed in the form of vertical columns with a gradual increase in the symbolic capacity of the lines of text information.
Thus, any student can practice dynamic reading at home, having in their hands several such publications.
The proposed method allows the student to expand the field of view and get used to the visual and symbolic reception of information.
A method of teaching fast reading is based on a special arrangement of text information on a regular (standard) storage medium of text information (page or computer screen) with a gradual increase in the number of characters in lines from the minimum size to the maximum (line length of a standard printed sheet).
Lines of textual information are arranged on a medium in groups, each of which has the same sign capacity in lines. The symbolic capacity of lines in groups increases from the beginning of reading to the end. The number of lines in each group is selected depending on the adaptation of the student to an expanding field of text information.
A feature of this method is the gradual increase in the symbolic capacity of lines on a text information medium, which allows a student to get used to the very method of vertical reading in the first place, and, secondly, to get used to expanding the angle of lateral view. Since the vision of an adult allows us to instantly perceive (without longitudinal movement of the eyes) a medium-sized word, getting used to the vertical way of reading begins with a text where the symbolic capacity of the lines does not exceed the number of characters in a medium-sized word. The number of lines of text with the same symbolic capacity in each group should be such that the student has time to get used to expanding the angle of lateral view.
A gradual increase in the symbolic capacity of lines of text ensures that the student automatically gets used to the very method of quick reading and involuntary (automatic) getting used to expand the angle of lateral view. As a result of reading texts with a similar arrangement of textual information on the medium, the student’s lateral angle of view expands, which allows him to perceive the entire length of the line of a standard printed sheet.
A printed publication made in this way is a book or a booklet where the text on the pages is arranged in narrow vertical columns with a gradual increase in the sign capacity in the rows, which at the end of the book have the length of a line of a standard printed sheet.
П р и м е р. PRI me R. The student has an idea of the theory of fast reading. Further, he needs a manual, which is a printed publication consisting of many texts (fiction or scientific). The publication is divided into many chapters, in each of which the texts are printed with the same sign capacity in lines, but each next chapter differs from the previous one in that the sign capacity of the lines is increased by one character. The publication consists of 30 chapters. The first chapter is printed in a column of 10 characters, the second of 11 characters and so on. The final chapter will consist of 39 characters. The chapters are not interconnected by either a semantic link or a storyline, which allows the student, having become accustomed to the increased field of view, to complete the reading of this chapter, go to the next chapter (each of which may contain many stories that also do not have a common storyline ) The absence of a single semantic link between the parts of the publication will allow the student to move on to the next chapter after the next adaptation without affecting the emotional side of learning, which would be affected if the reader had to jump over parts of a single text, thus passing through connecting information between blocks of the same text . The size of each chapter is designed for students with low learning abilities and thus contains from several tens to several hundred pages printed in columns with an unchanged number of characters in rows. The intervals between adding a character to a line can reach several thousand lines. Having completed thirty chapters in full, the student decides for himself whether to take the next edition and expand his field of vision to the size of a line in a large printed publication (sixty or more characters), or to stop there.
When prototyping such publications, it is taken into account that an increase in different blocks of the publication by exactly one character should not be mandatory. Such an increase is desirable, since in this case the principle of minimum load in the process of teaching dynamic reading is maximized. However, for a student with a high degree of adaptation to an increasing field of view, the number of added characters may be more than one (two, three, and so on).
