Способ работы двигателя внутреннего сгорания, цикл которого состоит из процессов: сжатия топливной смеси на базе углеводородного горючего; подвода теплоты за счет сжигания горючего в смеси и образования продуктов сгорания с высокой температурой и высоким давлением; расширения продуктов сгорания и отведения энергии расширения на вал двигателя, отличающийся тем, что топливная смесь состоит из водорода и атмосферного воздуха и перед сжатием предварительно охлаждается криогенной компонентой воздуха, которая становиться составляющей топливной смеси, включая ее жидкую фазу.1. Способ работы двигателя внутреннего сгорания, цикл которого состоит из процессов: сжатия топливной смеси на базе углеводородного горючего; подвода теплоты за счет сжигания горючего в смеси и образования продуктов сгорания с высокой температурой и высоким давлением; расширения продуктов сгорания и отведения энергии расширения на вал двигателя, отличающийся тем, что в процессе расширения продуктов сгорания к ним подводится теплота за счет сжигания дополнительного количества подведенного водорода.2. Способ по п.1, отличающийся тем, что подготовка и охлаждение топливной смеси, состоящей из газообразного водорода, атмосферного воздуха и криогенной составляющей воздуха, осуществляется в смесителе-охладителе, откуда охлажденная смесь, включая жидкую фазу криогенной составляющей воздуха, поступает в цилиндр двигателя.3. Способ по п.2, отличающийся тем, что процесс расширения продуктов сгорания с отводом энергии на вал двигателя состоит из трех этапов, которые последовательно осуществляются при движении поршня вниз к нижней мертвой точке: этапа, близкого к изобарному процессу, при котором сгорает основная часть водорода с понижением давления и температуры газа в конце этого этапа; этапа, близкого к изотермическому процессу расширения газов, с подводом теплоты за счет горения водорода подведенного из емкости коллектора, и этапа, близкого к адиабатному процессу с дальнейшим понижением давления и температуры, значения которых в конце процесса приближаются к значениям давления и температуры окружающей среды.
