The technical solution relates to medicine, namely to the field of mud therapy, and can be used in rehabilitation treatment and rehabilitation of patients with non-infectious gynecological diseases, as well as diseases of the rectum.

A common disadvantage of the known applicators in the case of the use for the treatment of gynecological diseases and rectal mud therapy should be recognized as the need to extract the applicator after the treatment session. For this reason, therapeutic mud is introduced into the hollow organs of the patient’s body without a sheath, which creates undesirable contact between the mucous membrane and the components of the therapeutic mud.

Known (RU, patent 11465) is an applicator for mud therapy, containing a base in which therapeutic mud is placed, the base being made in the form of a wipe from a woven or non-woven material, on which is applied, at least on one side, moistened and ground therapeutic mud, or therapeutic mud with the addition of medicines and / or phyto-additives, while a remedy is introduced into the therapeutic mud that prevents the shedding of the mud after it is dried.

A disadvantage of the known applicator should be recognized as its low suitability for the treatment of gynecological diseases, as well as in rectal mud therapy.

Also known (RU, patent 31508) is an applicator for mud therapy, containing a base of hydrophilic material coated with a layer of therapeutic mud, and the layer of therapeutic mud is additionally covered by an outer coating of moisture-proof and heat-insulating material.

A disadvantage of the known applicator should be recognized as its low suitability for the treatment of gynecological diseases, as well as in rectal mud therapy.

Also known (RU, patent 33868) is a single-use applicator for mud therapy, containing a base and a layer of therapeutic mud applied to it. The known applicator is made of two layers of nonwoven material, interconnected, while the outer part of the applicator is laminated with a plastic film, and the part of the applicator facing the patient’s body is made of material that is permeable to the liquid phase of the therapeutic mud and the substances dissolved in it.

A disadvantage of the known applicator should be recognized as its low suitability for the treatment of gynecological diseases, as well as in rectal mud therapy.

It is known (RU, patent 2385720) the use of gelatin-containing capsules for vaginal treatment.

It is also known (RU, patent 2378018 and patent 2038075) the use of gelatin-containing capsules for rectal treatment.

Currently, mud therapy of gynecological diseases, as well as diseases of the rectum, is carried out by injecting therapeutic mud with a syringe into a hollow organ, while taking medical mud from a transport container or from a container in which therapeutic mud is regenerated. In this embodiment, it is possible to contaminate the treatment mud during transportation or collection into the syringe.

During the patent search, the applicant did not identify an analogue that characterizes the design of the mud applicator, which can be used to treat gynecological diseases, as well as rectal mud therapy.

The technical problem, solved by means of the developed technical solution, consists in developing an applicator shell of a developed design intended for rectal and vaginal mud therapy, and capable of preserving the properties of therapeutic mud during transportation and storage.

The technical result obtained by the implementation of the developed design of the sheath of the applicator is to increase the convenience and effectiveness of vaginal and rectal treatment with therapeutic mud.

To achieve the specified technical result, it is proposed to use a shell of a mud applicator of a developed design. The developed design of the membrane of the mud applicator is a cover of gelatin-containing material, preferably of circular cross section, soluble in natural body fluids. Typically, the cover is sealed after filling it with prepared therapeutic mud.

The use of gelatin-containing material for packaging therapeutic mud is due to its unique properties. Gelatin-containing materials are fairly light, thermo, and weatherproof. At the same time, they dissolve quickly enough in the body's natural fluids.

The shell made of gelatin-containing material used in the design of the applicator ensures the preservation of the characteristics of the therapeutic mud, the ease of use of the applicator, and also provides protection against accidental contamination of the therapeutic mud when it is inserted into the syringe when the therapeutic mud is introduced into the patient’s body.

Gelatin capsules are well known. More often they are intended for oral administration, less often for rectal, vaginal, and other methods of administration. Their main purpose when taken orally is to mask the unpleasant taste and smell of the medicine.

The gelatin shell of the therapeutic mud applicator has a different purpose - to protect the biologically active properties of the therapeutic mud during storage and transportation of the applicators, as well as to facilitate the introduction of the applicator into the hollow organ.

Gelatin capsules mainly consist of three components - gelatin, glycerin and water, taken in various ratios. In addition, the capsules contain dyes, mainly inorganic, and preservatives. Glycerin, at least partially, can be replaced by other plasticizers, sorbitol, sugar syrup.

The therapeutic mud placed in the shell must be cleaned of foreign impurities. The placed particles of therapeutic mud should not exceed a size of more than 0.5 mm.

In the manufacture of the applicator, a capsule is made of gelatin-containing material beforehand using standard technology, the capsule cavity is filled with pre-prepared therapeutic mud, and the capsule cavity is closed according to standard technology.

It was experimentally established that therapeutic mud, placed in the applicator of the developed design, retains its physicochemical characteristics and biological activity for at least 60 days.
