S-a stabilit ca polioaxilenesterii, esterii, eterii, esterii/eteri, sau amestecurile acestora care contin doua grupe alchilice cu 10...30 atomi de carbon, saturate liniare si o grupa de alchilen glicol cu greutate moleculara cuprinsa între 200 si 5000 sunt agenti de îmbunatatire a curgerii distilatelor combustibile, foarte eficienti, în special pentru distilatele cu interval de firbere îngust, care pîna la aceasta data erau greu de tratat în acest scop, acesti agenti se pot utiliza si în combinatie cu aditivii conventionali ca, spre exemplu, copolimeri etilen/ester nesaturat si compusii de azot ca spre exemplu diamidele sau sarurile amido/aminelor, ester/amidele acizilor carboxilici.
