Conform inventiei, compozitia pentru odorizarea gazelor de încalzire este constituita din 50...60 parti în greutate alchil mercaptan cu 1...4 atomi de carbon în radicalul alchil si/sau o sulfura de dialchil cu 1...2 atomi de carbon în radicalul alchil, 25...30 parti în greutate acid butiric normal sau acid izobutiric si/sau aldehida normala valerianica sau izovalerianica si se introduce în gazul de odorizare în proportie de 5...40 mg/Nm3.
