Abstract
The process comprises mixing tetrabromobisphenol. A diglycidyl ether, inorganic filling agents, and triethylene tetramine hardener. Thus one gramme equivalent of the brominated epoxy resin is blended with 60-90 per cent relative to it, of 2-50 microns aluminium trihydrate for homogenising and degassing over 1 hr at 70-80 deg.C and 30 mmHg. Cooling to ambient temperature addition of 95-115% relative to the resin, of triethylene tetramine and 3-5 min. homogenising, is followed by pouring into dies at 25 deg.C for gelling and hardening over 24 hr at 25-28 degrees C.
