Abstract

Cardboard or like package for one or more cup-shaped containers (PH) which are preferably provided with a flanged edge (CH), having a cover surface (110), two side walls (120a, 130a) and a bottom surface (140) which are in each case connected to one another via fold lines, a tab (150), being articulated via a fold line on one side wall (130a), which tab serves to connect this side wall (130a) to the cover surface (110). In the fold line situated between one side wall (130a) and the tab (150), openings (210) are provided, in which extensions (220), which are arranged on the free edge of the cover surface (110) via an articulation fold line (221), are capable of engaging. Description

DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a carton or similar for one or more containers in the shape of a cup, with a protruding edge, with a top surface, two side walls, as well as a bottom surface, connected together through fold lines, with an articulated fold on one of the side walls through a fold line that serves to connect this side ^: J side with the upper side.

In general, to close the package, the top surface is glued with the fold, forming a very reliable seal.

i From US-A-3 014 636, it is also known to form appendages on the upper surface that are inserted into openings and are attached there. These appendages are provided, on both sides, with hook-shaped projections to make that prison possible. But, for this reason, it is very difficult to insert the appendages in the openings, 'requiring a special structure of the openings.

The object of the present invention is to improve the packaging referred to in the introduction in such a way that a simple but secure closure is possible.

According to the present invention, this problem is solved by providing in the fold line, between one of the side walls and the fold, openings in which appendages that are arranged on the free edges of the upper surface can be inserted through a fold line of hinge, being appendages subdivided into two sections by another fold line, of which the free section rests under the protruding fold of the containers.

To insert these appendages into the openings, it is only necessary to tighten the appendages together and allow them to simply slide into the completely straight openings.

It is also very convenient, according to the present invention, that the fold line that subdivides the appendages is parallel to the hinge fold line.

An appendage thus formed closes, when it is inserted into the opening, automatically by a fold made previously and, after crossing the opening, it opens again, so that no auxiliary means is necessary to make the closure.

According to the present invention, however, it is also possible for the fold line that subdivides the appendages to make a certain angle with the hinge fold line, this angle being slightly less than 902.

The appendages thus formed actually have to be compressed during insertion into the corresponding opening, but an even better retention results.

It is also very convenient, according to the present invention, to form in the appendix-free section a salience by means of which the appendix rests laterally on the protruding edge of the container, while the remaining appendix edges touch, close and bottom of the edge. protruding.

This projection communicates to the appendix a noticeable retention on the protruding edge, so that the closure becomes very secure.

The present invention is described in more detail below, based on four examples of realization represented in the accompanying drawings, the figures of which represent:

As can be seen from fig. 1, the package (100) consists of an upper surface (110) and a first side wall (120) hinged therein with a fold line (112), a lower surface (I4R), which is connected with the first side wall (120) through a folding line (124) and with a second side wall (130) through a folding line (134), as well as through a flap

(150), which is articulated on the second side wall (130) through a fold line (135).

The lower surface (140) has three partial surfaces (140a), (140b) and (140c), separated by fold lines (144) and (145).

On the partial surfaces (140b) and (140c) of the lower surface (140) there are openings (146) in the shape of a half moon, which are intended to fix containers (Pg) glued to the packaging in the lower area.

The flap (150) serves to connect the side wall (130) with the surface (110). In the fold line (135) provided between the side wall (130) and the flap (150), openings (210) are provided. In the mold cut out of flattened cardboard according to fig. 1 the openings (210) were formed as stamped grooves, which leave openings free when the packaging is armed.

On the free edges (111) of the upper surface (110) three identical appendages (220) are hinged, through a hinge folding line (221) in such a way that they are evenly distributed throughout the package (100) and can be inserted into the openings (210).

According to a first realization example, the appendices (220) are subdivided by a line of bragem (222) into two sections (220a) and (220b), with the free section (220b) additionally having a projection (220c) .

The section (220a) extends between the hinge folding line (221), which forms part of the edge (111), and the bending line (222), while the section (220b) extends between the line folding (222) and the outer edge (223) of the appendages (220), which is parallel to the hinge line (221) and the folding line (222). The lengths (La) and (Lb) of the sections (220a) and (220b) are precisely determined, as will be seen below. Also the length (Lc) of the projection (220c) is precisely determined, while its width is less than that of the appendages (220) at this point.

In the present embodiment, the appendages (220) have a width that varies along their length, having in the hinge fold line (221)

and the outer edge (223) a maximum width, and in the area of the fold line (222) a minimum width, so that the sections (220a) and (220b) have the configuration of a trapezium.

Said maximum width of the appendages (220) is preferably equal to or only slightly less than the length of the openings (210).

Finally, the packaging according to fig. 1 has on the flap (150) additional fixing means in the form of folds (300), which are secured, above, between two containers (neighboring PjP.

The cut-out cardboard mold shown in fig. 1 was designed for the packaging of twelve containers, arranged on two levels.

In fig. 2 shows a package, still in the unopened state, but in which, instead of three appendages (220), according to fig. 1, only two appendices were foreseen.

Referring to fig. 2, the package (100) was formed for eight containers, placed on two levels. On the lower level, the containers are designated (Pg) and on the upper level, (P ^). The containers on the same level are placed in a rectangle and connected to each other, at the height of the projecting edge (C ^) or (Cg).

For the frame and the closure of the packaging (100), the partial face (140a) of the bottom surface is horizontal, the partial surfaces (140b) and (140c) are inclined about 45 * 2 with the horizontal, the partial surfaces ( 120b) and (130b) approximately vertical and the partial surfaces (120a) and (I30a) vertical folded up. The upper surface (110) is folded in the horizontal direction around the fold line (112) in such a way that the fold (150), also horizontal, is covered.

According to fig. 3, the appendages (220) are folded in such a way that the section (220a) faces downwards at about 90i2 and the section (220b) together with the projection (220c) is inside with respect to the section (220a ).

An acute angle is then formed between the section (220a) and the section (220b).

When the package is closed, the upper surface (110) is brought to the horizontal position and at the same time the appendages (220) are inserted into the respective openings. The sections (220a) and (220b) are pressed against each other.

Figs. 4 and 5 show the package (100) in the closed condition. After inserting the appendages (220) into the openings (210), the section (220b) of each appendix (200) moves away from the section (220a) inward. In this movement around the fold line (222), due to the elasticity of the material used, the projection (220c) which is at the height of the protruding edge (C ^) of the container (P ^)> is placed against the outer edge the protruding edge (C ^), while the section (220b) slides with the edge (223) under the protruding edge (C ^).

As shown in fig. 5, the section (220b) of each appendix (220) takes an inclined position, with its projection on the periphery of the protruding edge (C ^.) And slides under the protruding edge (Cp). The maximum shoring then depends on the distance between the container wall (P _{t and} the side wall (130a).

The advantages of the packaging are achieved by choosing the already mentioned dimensions of the thickness (e) of the cardboard or similar material of the packaging and the thickness (Ld) of the protruding edge (C ^), preferably obeying:

They are described below, with reference to figs. 6 to 9, three other examples of realization. The same or similar parts with the same reference numbers, are not described again.

In the embodiment shown in fig. 6, containers with a small protruding edge (C4) are used. The protrusions (220c) have therefore been eliminated here, so that the section (220b) of the appendix (220) can slide

with its edge (223) completely under the raised edge (¾).

The present invention is also suitable, as shown by the third embodiment shown in fig. 7, for containers without protruding edge (C ^). The appendix (220) does not have, as in fig. 6, any projection (220c). When closing the package (100), the section edge (223) (220b) presses against the bottom surface of the flap (150). Here, care must be taken to ensure a sufficiently large gap (d) between the container wall (Pjj) θ and the partial surface (130a) of the side wall (130), to prevent the section (220b) from resiliently restoring towards the opening (210) and thereby open the package.

In this embodiment example, equality (1) is replaced by:

Figs. 8 and 9 show a fourth embodiment of the present invention. In this case, the appendices (220) have a first section (220a) which, through a hinge fold line (221), is connected with the upper surface (110), and a second section (220b) which, through a folding line (222), is articulated with the section (220a), forming an angle with it that is a little less than 902. In the cut out template of flattened cardboard (fig. 8) there is therefore the section (220b) laterally against the section (220a). The edge (223) is arranged as an extension bent at an angle to the hinge fold line (221) and forms an angleA which is equal to twice the difference 90 ² - X.

The sections (220b) are folded inward against the sections (220a) and the appendages (220) are inserted into the openings (210). As soon as the appendages (220) are inserted into the openings (210), the sections (220b), due to the elasticity of the material, move around the fold line (222) and therefore easily break free from the section (220a) as shown in fig. 9. In this embodiment, the edge (223) of the section (220b) is secured under the flap (150).

It is also possible to use this embodiment example for packaging containers with a protruding edge (C1). In this case, the edge (23) is separated from the hinge fold line (221), more specifically the thickness (Ld). the protruding edge (Cg), the edge (223) then fixes under the protruding edge (Cg).

The present invention can also be used for containers with a similar configuration as described.

The packaging can be made of cardboard, but also of any other material that has the necessary elasticity so that the sections (220b) of each appendix (220) are taken to the closed position.

Although in the described examples the number of appendages (220) is equal to the number of containers and arranged in the longitudinal direction and the closures are respectively perpendicular to the containers, it is also possible to choose any other number of appendages (220) and place the zips overlapping with any packaging surfaces.

Claims (1)
