Phenylethyl amines of formula (I) are new. In (I), R1 is H, halogen, OH, nitro, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, 1-4C alkylthio, lower acyloxy or lower acylamino gp. R2 is 3-8C cycloalkyl phenyl; R3 is H or 1-4C alkyl; R4 and R5 are each H, 1-4C alkyl or 7-11C phenylalkyl. Alternatively, NR4R5 is 1-pyrrodinyl, piperidino or morpholino or R4 and R5 denote a hydrolysable methylene part and further, R6 is H or hydrolysable acyl gp. A specific cpd. is 2-(2-chloro-5-hydroxy-4-biphenyl)-ethylamine and 2-(5-acetoxy-2-chloro-4-biphenyl)-ethylamine.
