A PRESENTE INVENÇÃO REFERE-SE A UM MÉTODO ÓTICO PARA A MEDIÇÃO E A MONITORIZAÇÃO DA CONCENTRAÇÃO DE OXIGÉNIO EM SISTEMAS DE COMBUSTÍVEL, SENDO UMA DAS APLICAÇÕES A MEDIÇÃO DA CONCENTRAÇÃO DE OXIGÉNIO EM TANQUES DE COMBUSTÍVEL DE AERONAVES. A FLUORESCÊNCIA INTRÍNSECA (INTENSIDADE E TEMPO DE VIDA) DO COMBUSTÍVEL DE JATO (JET FUEL) É FORTEMENTE AFETADA PELA PRESENÇA DE OXIGÉNIO, O QUE PERMITE USAR ESTA PROPRIEDADE PARA DETETAR E MONITORAR O OXIGÉNIO EM SISTEMAS DE COMBUSTÍVEL OU NOS TANQUES DE COMBUSTÍVEL EM AERONAVES.
