Ściernica charakteryzuje się tym, że korpus ścierny jest w postaci stalowego pierścienia (2) współosiowego względem trzpienia (1), który na swojej powierzchni roboczej ma galwaniczną powłokę ścierną, a ponadto jest połączony rozłącznie z trzpieniem (1), przy czym pierścień (2) zawiera otwory przelotowe (6), które prowadzą do rozgałęzień kanału trzpienia (1).
