W zgłoszeniu stwierdzono, że występuje korelacja między genotypem genu HFE (rs 1799945), stężeniem żelaza w surowicy a ryzykiem raków u mężczyzn. Przedmiotem zgłoszenia jest sposób określania ryzyka raka. Sposób ten charakteryzuje się tym, że obejmuje ocenę konstytucyjnej zmiany w genie HFE His63Asp (rs 1799945) oraz ocenę stężenia żelaza w próbce biologicznej badanego mężczyzny, przy czym kombinacja poszczególnych genotypów z określonym poziomem żelaza wskazuje na znacząco zwiększone lub zmniejszone ryzyko rozwoju raków, przy czym uznaje się, że ryzyko raków u mężczyzn: - dla genotypu HFE CC przy stężeniu żelaza w surowicy < 750 µg/l (lub stężeniu w dowolnym materiale biologicznym odpowiadającym stężeniu w surowicy) jest podwyższone; - dla genotypu HFE CC przy stężeniu żelaza w surowicy 1450-1900 µg/l (lub stężeniu w dowolnym materiale biologicznym odpowiadającym stężeniu w surowicy) jest obniżone.The report found that there was a correlation between the HFE gene genotype (rs 1799945), serum iron levels and the risk of malignancies in men.
