The essence of the industrial design is reflected in the chair's appearance. The metal and wood chair with an upholstered seat has chrome-plated metal legs, while the connected wooden section in a natural, unstained wood color forms part of the backrest. The front legs of the chair have a spacing greater than the back legs. The seat surface, viewed from above, has a shape similar to a trapezoid, with the longer side parallel to the front of the chair, as shown in Fig. 1. The metal and wood chair has a front leg spacing approximately 1.3 times the rear leg spacing, and the height of the backrest above the seat cushion is approximately 0.4 times the chair's total height. All of the chair's legs are chrome-plated metal tubes connected so that each pair of side legs is shaped like the letter H. The horizontal crossbars of the Hs form the backrest of the seat cushion, and the longer vertical lines of the Hs are connected at the top by a wooden bar and at mid-height by a metal crossbar, forming the backrest. The front legs of the chair are vertical, tapering downward at the lower ends, while the tubes of the rear legs and the sides of the backrest are tapered towards the ends at the bottom and top. Furthermore, these tubes have lower and upper ends that arc backward from the center of the tube, while the wooden crossbar connecting the upper ends of the tubes forms a backward arc, and in front view, it is a trapezoid with the longest side at the top, slightly curved radially upward. The upper ends of four vertical wooden slats, constituting the backrest rungs, are attached to the lower side of the wooden crossbar between metal tubes. The upholstered seat cushion has conically tapered sides, characteristic of upholstery tension. Essential features of industrial design 1.
