2, fig. 4 — widok z boku dwóch konców czlonów stropnicy usztyw¬ nionych klinami, a fig. PL PLThe modular canopy for mine roof support, which is the subject of the invention, is distinguished by its simple design compared to known canopy supports, allowing for easy interconnection of individual members without the need for separate, loose, unconnected components, which often get lost in the darkness of the mine. Individual canopy members, according to the invention, are provided with a hook at one end and a link at the other end suspended from an eye permanently attached to the member, which is placed on the hook of an adjacent member connected to the first member. This type of connection of the individual canopy members allows not only for easy installation towards the coal face but also for extraction from the side of the cave. The canopy member, after *) The patent owner declared that the inventor is engineer Władysław Turkiewicz, hangs freely, suspended by a link from the hook of the adjacent member, and can be easily removed and reused without the need for additional loose connecting devices. One end of the canopy is preferably provided with a quarter-circle-shaped projection, while the other end is provided with a similarly shaped recess. This allows for some play at the joint between the connected members, allowing for their articulated movement and adjustment to minor unevenness in the ceiling. The projection and its corresponding recess should preferably be provided with faceplates to increase the contact surface. The cross-section of the canopy according to the invention can be of any shape; however, it is most advantageous to use an I-section. Sometimes it is necessary to stiffen the connection between two joined members. This is achieved according to the invention by using wedges slidable with respect to each other along their inclined surfaces and placed in appropriate sockets. The drawing shows the subject of the invention, wherein Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section of the gallery when robbed from the front, Fig. 2 - a side view of two connected ends of the canopy, Fig. 3 - a cross-section along line I-1 in Fig. 2, Fig. 4 - a side view of two ends of the canopy members stiffened with wedges, and Fig. 5 - a cross-section along line II-II in Fig. 4. In the drawing, the number 1 denotes a canopy member provided with a permanently attached hook 2 at one end and a fire hook at the other end. wo 3 suspended in an eyelet 4, permanently attached to the member 1. One end of the member 1 has a frontal connecting surface 5 in the shape of a quarter circle, the other end has a similar recess 6, wherein the surface 5 and the recess 6 are provided with frontal plates 7 of the same shape; both the projection 5 and the recess 6 have a radius of curvature smaller than the height of the canopy member 1 (figs. 2 and 4). Figs. 4 and 5 show a different embodiment of the canopy members 1, the mutually connected ends of which are stiffened by means of wedges 8 placed in sockets created by means of an I-beam and side plates 9 attached to it. After being mutually connected and stiffened, the individual canopy members 1 fulfill the function of the long members used so far, but they can be removed more easily and do not bend so often. This variant is particularly suitable for mechanical coal mining using so-called combines, which together with the conveyors can be moved to a new working field without the need to dismantle them. Two 1.6 m long canopy sections, when connected by links 3 and stiffened with wedges 8, form a 3.2 m long rigid canopy, supported at both ends by stands 10 until the conveyor is moved. After moving the conveyor, the individual elements are supported as usual by the props 10 in their proper places, and the wedges 8 are knocked out and removed, after which the canopy operates as usual. The method of installing the canopy from the coal sidewall side and removing its elements from the side of the caving is shown in Fig. 1. In order to remove the support, the props 10 are removed, as a result of which the element 1 hangs by means of the link 3 on the hook 2 and can be easily removed and installed from the coal sidewall side.
