Abstract
Disclosed is a method for building a tunnel (5) under an existing construction, wherein the tunnel (5) is pressed through the ground beneath an existing construction and the ground in the area of the cutting construction (9) on the advancement side of the tunnel (5) is removed parallel to direction in which the tunnel (5) advances. The existing construction is secured against earth movements during advancement of the tunnel (5) by building stabilization plates (10). In order to minimize friction between the tunnel (5) and the earth in place and to stabilize the earth beneath the existing construction, the stabilization plates (10) are embedded in the ground in an open type construction and connected to each other before the tunnel (5) is pressed through. The stabilization plates (10) are also fitted with reinforcing beams (11) on the earth side.
