Abstract
Production of screw springs or stabilizers made from steel comprises comparing the heating temperature over the rod lengths and maintaining between the rollers. A predetermined torsion of the material in the edge region and a required deforming gradient are achieved over the cross-section. After exceeding the critical degree of deformation of the edge recrystallization processes take place so that post heating above Ac3 is carried out, the rods are wound to form a screw spring or bent to form a stabilizer, hardened and tempered.
