Abstract

The application concerns a device for carbonizing or burning solid fuels, including municipal waste, which effectively uses the heat of flue gases, efficiently manages them, and at the same time reduces the content of combustible parts in flue gases. The device for carbonizing or burning solid fuels includes a system for feeding the feedstock (1), where the reactor (4) for coaling is equipped with an inclined transport means in the form of a reciprocating grate (6) and a traveling grate (7) placed under its outlet and it has an air supply assembly composed of air boxes (8 and 9). The chamber (5) of the coalification reactor (4) is bipartite, with a dividing line running over the reciprocating grate (6). The unburnt part of the gases in the reactor chamber (5) is discharged through the post-combustion pipe (12) to the system for the use of heat and flue gas cleaning (16), from where, to improve the conditioning conditions of the charred material, the mixture of recirculated flue gases and water vapor is directed under the traveling grate (7). After leaving the traveling grate (7), the coalized raw material particles are directed to the coalized material or ash collection system (18), where they fall to the wet deslagger (19) for extinguishing and cooling.
