Abstract
Se revela un metodo para controlar hierro en un proceso hidrometalurgico. El metodo puede comprender las etapas de: lixiviar (14, 114) una suspension de alimentacion (2, 102); formar una solucion de lixiviacion cargada (12a, 12b; 112a, 112b); eliminar un primer residuo de lixiviacion (18, 118) de la solucion de lixiviacion cargada (12a, 12b); y enviar una porcion (12b, 112b) de la solucion de lixiviacion cargada (12a, 12b) y/o refinado (22, 122) producido a partir del mismo, a un proceso de eliminacion de hierro (34, 134). De acuerdo con algunas realizaciones preferidas, el proceso de eliminacion de hierro (34, 134) comprende las etapas de: procesar secuencialmente la solucion de lixiviacion cargada (12a, 12b) y/o refinado (22, 122) producido a partir de los mismos en un primer reactor (R1), un segundo reactor (R2) y un tercer reactor (R3); mantener un nivel de pH del primer reactor (R1) sobre 4, en virtud de la adicion de una primera base; mantener un nivel de pH del segundo (Rf) y/o tercer (R3) reactores sobre 8.5, en virtud de una segunda base; y formar solidos (46) que comprenden magnetita (68). El metodo ademas comprende las etapas de realizar la etapa de separacion solido/liquido (36) despues del proceso de eliminacion de hierro (34, 134); y realizar una etapa de separacion magnetica (64) para eliminar magnetita (68) de dichos solidos que comprenden magnetita (68), sin limitacion. Tambien se revela un sistema para realizar el metodo.
