Abstract
A dosing device 1 comprises a powder hopper 2 and a plate 11 with a surface 3 provided with cavities 5 for receiving a particulate material dispensed onto the plate surface from the hopper. A filling means such as a wheel 6 is movable along said surface 3 for moving particulate material into the cavities 5 from the surface. The wheel 6 is biased toward the plate surface to exert a compressing force on said particulate material in a direction towards said surface so that said particulate material is forced into the cavities 5. Scrapers 14 may be provided to agitate the powder on the surface that has not been filled into a cavity as the wheel goes by.
