Abstract

A device 1 comprises a pilot burner 2 positioned in the centre of a gasification burner 15, the pilot burner 2 being equipped with a centric nozzle head 3 arranged to supply a fuel gas in a flow direction, a burner pipe projecting beyond the nozzle head 3 in the flow direction and defining a burner pipe space 8, and at least one electrical ignition device 9 provided within the burner pipe space 8. The burner pipe space 8 reduces in cross-section downstream of the electrical ignition device 9, and the medium in the burner pipe space 8 can be changed after ignition of the gasification burner 15.
