Abstract

A rotating gantry mast 10 supports the sail or sails 5 and rotates with a support structure 16, 17 connected to the mast. Attachment booms 18, 19 are pivotally mounted on the support structure at one end 20, 21 and attached to the clew or clews of the sail at the other end 8, 9. The angles of the booms with respect to the support structure is controlled by suitably arranged control lines to assure suitable sail shape and angle of attack to the apparent wind.
