Abstract

Oppfinnelsen vedrører en fremgangsmåte til kontroll av AlF-innholdet i kryollittsmelter til aluminium-reduksjonen, hvor temperaturen til smeiten måles. For å tilveiebringe en meget nøyaktig fremgangsmåte, som gjør det mulig å utføre aluminium-reduksjonen ved en lavest mulig temperatur, altså mest mulig energibesparende, blir likvidustemperaturen til kryolittsmelten målt og sammenlignet med en første referanseverdi, hvor A1Ftilsettes til badet når den målte likvidustemperaturen er høyere enn den første referanseverdien og hvor den målte likvidustemperaturen sammenlignes med en annen referanseverdi som er lavere enn den første referanseverdien, når den målte likvidustemperaturen er lavere enn den første referanseverdien og hvor NaF eller NaC0tilsettes badet når den målte likvidustemperaturen er lavere enn den andre referanseverdien.
