Abstract

En stang (1), som f.eks. en flaggstang, er laget av et materiale som hovedsakelig består av en første komponent, som f.eks. glass, og en andre komponent, som f.eks. en polymer. De to komponentene tilføres materiale som prefabrikkerte komposittfibre dannet av begge komponentene, og i form av et nett (2) av glassfiber. Polymeren er en termoplastisk polymer, som f.eks. polypropylen, og stangen blir laget av komposittfibrene under varmebelastning, som mykgjør polymeren og dermed forbinder komposittfibrene, slik at de etter kjøling antar en fast form. På denne måten kan det produseres f.eks. en flaggstang, som er mindre kostbar enn en konvensjonell flaggstang av f.eks. glassfiberforsterket polyester, og som samtidig har like gode egenskaper.
