Abstract

Et kommunikasjonssystem er fremskaffet for å overfø- re bredbånds multimediadata gjennom et nettverk. Systemet inkluderer nettverksterminaler, en forbin- delsesryggrad og en anropsoppsettsserver. Anropsopp- settsserveren styrer anropshåndtering og forbindel- seshåndtering eller kanalallokering. Kanalallokering blir håndtert separat fra anropsstyring, som mulig- gjør oppgradering av forbindelseshåndteringsmaskin- vare og programvare uten å influere på resten av systemet.
