Abstract

En prøve av antikoagulert pattedyrfullblod blandes med en kombinasjon av reagenser som vil redusere de naturlige frastøtningskreftene som pattedyr-erytrocytter har for hverandre. Den behandlede blodprøve sentrifugeres i et rør inneholdende et "buffy coat" ekspanderende innlegg for derved fysisk å ekspandere den aksiale størrelse av blodprøvens "buffy coaf-komponenter i røret. Ved å redusere tendensen av erytrocyttene til å frastøte hverandre, kan en oppnå en klarere avgrensning mellom erytrocytter og "buffy coat". Den ovenfornevnte prosedyre og reagensene gjør det mulig for første gang nøyaktig å analysere en sentrifugert prøve av antikoagulert oksefullblod og derfra oppnå hematokritt og differensialtelling av hvite celler. l tillegg, kan humane blodprøver som ellers utviser en strømningstendes bli nøyaktig analysert ved tilsetningen av en kombinasjon av passende erytrocytt-frastøtningsreduserende reagenser sammen med agglutinasjonsreagenser.
