Abstract

Any coarse components present are separated, then the viscosity of the oil/water-solids mixture is reduced by water addition, without heating, to 25-40 mass % water content. Low boiling-or azeotrope forming solvent, or mixed solvents, are then homogenised into the mixture. Separation to liquid and solid phases follows, and the solids are partly dried, to free them of residual solvent or solvent mixture. Material use is made of the residual solids, and of the fluid phase containing oil, solvent and water. <IMAGE>
