Abstract

For tiden er det å arrangere en pålitelig levering av faxmeldinger et problem i lokalområde-nettverks- miljøer, fordi ytterligere leveringer ikke er mulige når faksmeldinger har blitt mottatt, og således er det påkrevet med manuelle innblandinger for å være sikker på at faxmeldingen kommer frem til den til- tenkte mottaker. Den foreliggende oppfinnelse frem- skaffer en fremgangsmåte for å oppnå en automatisk faxlevering i et lokalområde-nettverksmiljø. Opphavsfaxen (OF) sender en faxmelding (FM) til et forhåndsdefinert telefonnummer (TN). Dette telefon- nummer (TN) tilhører et sett av numre som er plas- sert i et faxleveringssystem (FDS). Faxleveringssys- temet (FDS) som er koblet til det svitsjede tele- fonnettverk (STN), mottar så faxmeldingen (FM), og etter å ha mottatt og lagret faxmeldingen (FM), videresender faxleveringssystemet (FDS) samme fax- melding (FM) sammen med telefonnummeret (TN) til lokalområde-nettverksserveren (LANS). Lokalområde- nettverksserveren (LANS) trekker ut telefonnummeret (TN) fra faxmeldingen (FM) og videresender faxmeld- ingen (FM) til den tiltenkte mottaker (IR) ved hjelp av et elektronisk postsystem (EMS).
