Abstract

Katalytisk prosess for å produsere syntesegass ved å starte fra metan, oksygen og eventuelt karbondioksyd og vann, hvori det anvendes en edelmetallkatalysator understøttet på en fast bærer, idet katalysatoren er arrangert som en kaskade av et flertall av katalytiske sjikt, og prosessene utfares under adiabatiske forhold: - ved å tilføre gassreaktantstrømmen oppstrøms av det første katalytiske sjikt og fjerne varme ved varmeveksling mellom de katalytiske sjikt arrangert i kaskade, eller - ved å innføre gassreaktantstrømmen delvis oppstrøms fra det første katalytiske sjikt og delvis, som en kald strøm, mellom de katalytiske sjikt arrangert i kaskade.
