Abstract
En fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av et pigmentmaterial sammensatt av titandioksyd og kalsiumsulfat er utviklet. I henhold til denne fremgangsmåte males kalsiumsulfat opp til en partikkelstorrelse mindre enn 10m, blandes med titandioksyd og det blandede partikkelmaterial påfres et belegg bestående av et oksyd eller vannholdig oksyd av et metall eller silisium. Denne fremgangsmåte kan særlig komme til anvendelse i forbindelse med et produksjonsanlegg for fremstilling av titandioksyd ved sulfatprosessen, hvor biproduktet svovelsyre omformes til gips.Det sammensatte pigmentmaterial oppviser forbedrede optiske egenskaper sammenlignet med en vanlig blanding av titandioksyd og gips.
