Abstract

Et informasjonssignal modulerer en første optisk bærer. Informasjonssignalet blir omvendt for å modulere en andre optisk bærer. De modulerte første og andre optiske bærere blir multiplekset til et enkelt optisk signal for overføring over en optisk fiberbane (26). I en mottager (fig. 2) blir det optiske signal demultiplekset for å gjenopprette informasjonsslgnalet og det omvendte informasjonssignalet. De gjenopprett- ede signaler blir satt sammen for å frembringe informasjonssignalet i det elektriske verdiområdet med redusert forvrengning. En dobbeltdetektor (34) med balansert optisk diodepar (36, 38) kan benyttes for å sette sammen de gjenopprettede informasjonssignaler og omvendte informasjonssignaler og avgi en analog RF- utgang. Anordningen er særlig egnet for overføring av amplltudemodulerte restbånd (AM-VSB) fjernsynssignaler.
