Abstract

Et gassanalyseapparat for å detektere nærværet eller mengden av en gass omfatter en elektromagnetisk strålingskilde (52) som leder en lysstråle gjennom en lyskondisjonerende anordning (54) slik at lysstrålen kollimeres til en parallell lysstråle. Den endrede lysstråle ledes deretter mot en dobbeltbrytende etalon- anordning (64) som er utformet slik at den spesifikt er tilpasset til den aktuelle gassens absorpsjonslinjer. En elektro-optisk modulatorenhet (68) i tilknytning den dobbeltbrytende etalon- enhet modulerer absorpsjonslinjene mellom maksimalpunktene i transmisjonsspekteret og et punkt mellom disse maksimalpunkter, slik at det kan utledes et absorpsjonsforhold for således å bestemme nærværet eller mengden av den aktuelle gass.
