Description
Denne oppfinnelse angår et korrosjonshindrende preparat og anvendelse av dette i rørkoblinger.
Offshoreproduksjon av olje og gass er blitt en meget viktig virksomhet. Dette har gitt opphav til flere problemer. Ett av disse problemer har sammenheng med at rørledninger, såsom oljerørledninger, stigerør, borerør, osv., befinner seg i stadig kontakt med sjøvann. Sjøvann har tendens til å være meget korrosivt. Særlig på de steder hvor deler av en rørledning er forbundet med hverandre (koblinger), viser korrosjonen seg å være temmelig alvorlig. Som følge av korrosjonen avtar rørledningens styrke meget sterkt, slik at det oppstår risiko for brudd på rørledningen. For å unngå denne risiko er det nødvendig med kostbar reparasjon av rørledningen eller utskifting av koblingen i løpet av relativt kort tid.
Det er således et stort behov for et godt korrosjonshindrende middel for slike koblinger. Konvensjonelle smørefett er ikke tilfredsstillende, enten de inneholder en korrosjonsinhibitor eller ikke. I konvensjonelle rørkoblinger med skrue-gjenger presses fettet ut når koblingens deler settes sammen.
I mer sofistikerte koblingssysterner, f.eks. i systemene be-skrevet i britiske patentskrifter nr. 1 573 945 og 2 064 041, er det vanskelig å påføre et korrosjonshindrende preparat mellom koblingens handel og hundel.
Ved hjelp av den foreliggende oppfinnelse overvinnes
de ovenfor omtalte problemer. Oppfinnelsen angår et korrosjonshindrende preparat som inneholder fra 60 til 98 vekt%
av et væskeformig hydrocarbonfyllstoff, fra 1 til 30 vekt%
av en korrosjonsinhibitor og fra 1 til 10 vekt% av et geleringsmiddel som i løpet av en viss tid gir preparatet en viskositet på minst 650 cSt, fortrinnsvis 750 cSt, ved 25°C,
idet samtlige vektprosentangivelser er basert på den totale mengde fyllstoff, korrosjonsinhibitor og geleringsmiddel.
Det korrosjonshindrende preparat fremstilles ved blanding av hydrocarbonfyllstoffet, geleringsmidlet og korrosjonsinhibitorer til en lavviskøs blanding som lett lar seg pumpe 2) en korrosjonsinhibitor, som fåes på markedet under varemerket "Corexit 8466", og som utgjøres av en 73 vekt%-ig oppløsning av fettsyre-alkanol/alkylamin/salter i en blanding av et aromatisk hydrocarbon og butoxyethanol, 3) et geleringsmiddel, som utgjøres av fosfatestere av etha-nol, octanol og decanol i et aromatisk oppløsningsmiddel,
og som fåes på markedet under varemerket "J 2 92", og
4) en katalysator, som utgjøres av natriumaluminat og nat-riumhydroxyd, og som fåes på markedet under varemerket " J 2 92 ".
Det følgende preparat resulterte i geler som hadde en viskositet på over 750cSt ved 25°C, og som var stabile etter 9 måneder:
Eksempel II
For å vise de utmerkede korrosjonshindrende egenskaper ble metallprøvestykker som var belagt med en 50^um tykk film av preparat 2 fra eksempel I, som hadde en viskositet på 760cSt ved 25°C, holdt neddykket i luftet sjøvann i 6 måneder. De forble ukorroderte. Ut fra impedansmålinger utført under hele eksponeringstiden ble det fastslått at korrosjonshastigheten for metallprøvestykkene var mindre enn 0,004 mm pr. år. Ube-lagte prøvestykker oppviste en korrosjonshastighet på 1-2
mm pr. år.
til og/eller påføres på de ønskede flater. Etter en stund bevirker geleringsmidlet en økning i preparatets viskositet. Fortrinnsvis nåes den ønskede viskositet etter fra 60 til
600 minutter etter sammenblandingen av bestanddelene.
Det væskeformige fyllstoff må ikke i seg selv være korroderende. For å gjøre håndteringen sikker må det dessuten ikke være lettantennelig. Derfor er fyllstoffet fortrinnsvis et hydrocarbon med et begynnelseskokepunkt på minst 80°C.
Det kan velges blant en lang rekke hydrocarboner. Således
er spesifikke alkaner eller alkylarener såsom alkylbenzen, -toluen og -xylen anvendelige. Fra et økonomisk synspunkt er hydrocarbonfyllstoffet fortrinnsvis en gassolje, som innbefatter dieselolje og tyngre fyringsoljer.
Mange korrosjonsinhibitorer kan benyttes i preparatet ifølge oppfinnelsen. Det er hensiktsmessig at de er meget effektive, slik at de kan motvirke den korroderende virkning av sjøvannsmiljøer. Fortrinnsvis velges korrosjonsinhibitorene blant salter av fettsyrer med alkanolaminer og/eller alkyl-aminer.
Geleringsmidlet må være i stand til å gi den ønskede viskositet. Dersom viskositeten skulle bli lavere, vil det oppstå risiko for at preparatet kan spyles vekk fra overflaten som det skal beskytte. Om ønskes, kan mengden av geleringsmiddel innstilles slik at det fåes et preparat med den ønskede viskositet. Meget velegnede geleringsmidler kan velges blant organiske fosfater, spesielt blant C^_^^-alkylfosfater.
Preparatet ifølge oppfinnelsen inneholder bestanddelene i de ovenfor angitte mengder. Fortrinnsvis inneholder preparatet fra 65 til 85 vekt% av fyllstoffet, fra 5 til 25 vekt%
av korrosjonsinhibitoren og fra 1 til 5 vekt% av geleringsmidlet. Om ønskes, kan det også inneholde en katalysator som innvirker på geldannelsen. Egnede katalysatorer innbefatter alkalimetallaluminater, som kan være kombinert med hydroxyder eller ikke. Mengden av disse er hensiktsmessig fra 5 til 20 vekt%, beregnet på geleringsmidlet.
Oppfinnelsen angår likeledes anvendelse av det korrosjonshindrende preparat i en rørkobling som omfatter en rør- formet spissdel og en rørformet muffedel, hvis innvendige overflate i det vesentligste svarer til den utvendige overflate av spissdelen, idet hver overflate er forsynt med for-høyninger og fordypninger som går i inngrep med hverandre.
Oppfinnelsen angår videre en fremgangsmåte for å påføre det korrosjonshindrende preparat mellom en rørkoblingsspiss-del og muffedel, ved hvilken fremgangsmåte fyllmaterialet, geleringsmidlet og korrosjonsinhibitoren blandes sammen, blandingen pumpes under trykk gjennom en port i muffedelen for å bringe muffedelen til å utvide seg og/eller spissdelen til å trekke seg sammen, slik at det dannes et rom mellom delene, som fylles med blandingen, og blandingen mellom delene tilla-tes å nå en øket viskositet på minst 650 cSt ved 25°C. Fluidet kan trykkavlastes før eller etter geleringen av blandingen. Fortrinnsvis foretaes trykkavlastningen før geldannelse har funnet sted.
Oppfinnelsen skal illustreres under henvisning til tegningene, hvor fig. 1 delvis viser et aksialsnitt, delvis et sideriss, av en rørkobling hvor en spissdel og en muffedel er i fullt inngrep med hverandre, og fig. 2 viser mer detal-jert et partielt aksialsnitt av en del av rørkoblingen.
Som vist på figurene 1 og 2 omfatter rørkoblingen en rørformet spissdel 1, som festes, f.eks. ved sveising, til enden av et rør 2, og en rørformet muffedel 3, som festes, f.eks. ved sveising, til enden av et rør 4 som skal kobles til rør 2. Spissdelen og muffedelen kan gå teleskopisk i inngrep med hverandre, og de har vanligvis stumpkjegleformede utvendige og innvendige perifere overflater henholdsvis 5 og 6 som ligger over hverandre når spissdelen er fullstendig teleskopinnsatt i muffedelen, som vist på fig. 1. Delene 1 og 3 har radielt utragende flater 7 og 8 i deres frie, ytre ende, og når de er fullstendig satt sammen, vil den ene av de radielt utragende flater 7, henholdsvis 8 ligge an mot en radielt utragende flate 9 eller 10 av en skulder anordnet ved den indre ende av den stumpkjegleformede overflate av henholdsvis muffedelen eller spissdelen for overføring av aksialt rettede krefter, f.eks. pælerammende krefter, mellom delene 1 og 3. Som vist ligger muffedelens flate 8 og spiss-delens" flate 10 an mot hverandre.
De generelt stumpkjegleformede perifere flater 5, 6 omfatter stumpkjegleformede endepartier, henholdsvis 11, 12
og 13, 14, ved de indre og ytre ender av de stumpkjegleformede flater, og mellom disse endepartier er flatene forsynt med forhøyninger og fordypninger 15 og 16 som kan gå i inngrep med hverandre.
En port 17 er anordnet i muffedelen 3, hvilken port gir åpning inn til det parti som er forsynt med forhøyningene og fordypningene. Porten er beregnet for tilkobling til en kilde for fluid under trykk.
For å sette sammen koblingen beveges muffedelen og spissdelen aksialt mot hverandre. Gjennom porten 17 tilføres et fluid under trykk for å utvide muffedelen og/eller sammen-presse spissdelen, slik at delene kan beveges ytterligere, slik at de bringes fullstendig sammen. Det under trykk stående fluid, som vanligvis er et hydraulisk fluid, erstattes med et preparat ifølge oppfinnelsen. Det lavviskøse preparat,
som fåes etter sammenblanding av bestanddelene, tilføres under trykk gjennom port 17, slik at det bringes inn mellom delenes 1 og 3 flater 5 og 6 og flater 8 og 10. Trykket avlastes,
og porten 7 lukkes med en plugg. Etter en stund når preparatet opp i den nødvendige viskositet. Som følge av den høye viskositet vil preparatet ikke lekke ut av koblingen, men vil gi en langvarig korrosjonshindrende virkning.
Eksempel I
For fremstilling av stabile korrosjonshindrende prepa-rater ifølge oppfinnelsen ble de følgende utgangsmaterialer benyttet: 1) et hydrocarbonoppløsningsmiddel, som fåes på markedet under varemerket "Corexit 8811", og er basert på en dieselolje og inneholder Cg-C^Q-hydrocarboner,
Claims (8)
1. Korrosjonshindrende preparat,karakterisert vedat det inneholder fra 60 til 98 vekt% av et væskeformig hydrocarbonfyllstoff, fra 1 til 30 vekt% av en korrosjonsinhibitor og fra 1 til 10 vekt% av et geleringsmiddel som i løpet av en viss tid gir preparatet en viskositet på minst 650 cSt, fortrinnsvis 750 cSt,
ved 25°C, idet samtlige vektprosentangivelser er basert på den totale mengde fyllstoff, korrosjonsinhibitor og geleringsmiddel .
2. Korrosjonshindrende preparat ifølge krav 1,karakterisert vedat viskositeten på minst 650 cSt ved 25°C nåes 60-600 minutter etter sammenblandingen av bestanddelene.
3. Korrosjonshindrende preparat ifølge krav 1 eller 2,karakterisert vedat fyllstoffet er et hydrocarbon med et begynnelseskokeopunkt på minst 80°C.
4. Korrosjonshindrende preparat ifølge krav 3,karakterisert vedat fyllstoffet er en gassolje .
5. Korrosjonshindrende preparat ifølge krav 1-4,karakterisert vedat korrosjonsinhibitoren er valgt blant salter av fettsyrer og alkanol- og/eller al-kylaminer.
6. Korrosjonshindrende preparat ifølge krav 1-5,karakterisert vedat geleringsmidlet er valgt blant organiske fosfater.
7. Anvendelse av et korrosjonshindrende preparat ifølge krav 1-6 i en rørkobling som omfatter en rørformet spissdel og en rørformet muffedel, hvis innvendige overflate i det vesentligste svarer til den utvendige overflate av spissdelen, idet hver overflate er forsynt med forhøyninger og fordypninger som går i inngrep med hverandre.
8. Fremgangsmåte for påføring av et korrosjonshindrende preparat ifølge krav 1-6, mellom en rørkoblingsspissdel og muffedel,
karakterisert vedat fyllmaterialet, geleringsmidlet og korrosjonsinhibitoren blandes sammen, blandingen pumpes under trykk gjennom en port i muffedelen for å bringe muffedelen til å utvide seg og/eller spissdelen til å trekke seg sammen, slik at det dannes et rom mellom delene, som fylles med blandingen, og blandingen mellom delene tilla-tes å nå en øket viskositet på minst 650 cSt ved 25°C.
