Abstract

A corrosion inhibiting liquid comprises, by weight, 10 to 30% of a solvent extracted mineral oil having a viscosity of 180 to 220 SSU at 100 DEG F., 8 to 15% of a polyoxyethylene fatty acid ester emulsifier, 5 to 15% of a glycol fatty acid ester water repellent, 0.25 to 5% cyclohexylamine carbonate, the balance being a petroleum distillate having a minimum initial boiling point of 300 DEG F., the liquid being free of oxidized and sulphonated material. Up to 2% by weight of hexylene glycol may be included as a coupling agent. The preferred emulsifier is polyoxyethylene oleic acid ester, and the preferred water repellent is propylene glycol monostearate.
