Som det fremgår av fig. 4-6 får man således i området ved hjønene forskjellig utseende for tverrsnittet gjennom tetningsprofilen: i snittet gjennom plan IV-IV (fig. 4) har tverr-snittsprofilen'ennå utseende av en sammenhengende profil, mens snittet langs planet V-V (fig. 5) vil gi et tverrsnitt som allerede er adskilt i to deler på grunn av den separasjon som er omtalt oven-for, og endelig i snittet VI-VI (fig. 6) finnes den deformérbare sonen ikke lengérr ■longer, on the other hand, each is connected to corresponding parts of adjacent profile pieces.
