Description
FREMGANGSMÅTE OG ANORDNING FOR RENSING AV ET RØRLEGEME I GRUNNEN METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CLEANING A PIPE BODY IN THE GROUND
A method for cleaning a pipe body in the ground is provided. More specifically, it concerns a method for cleaning a pipe body in the ground where a cable machine located in the pipe body is provided with a cleaning tool, the cable machine being connected to a cable that includes an electrical conductor, and where the cable runs between the cable machine and the surface. The invention also includes a device for carrying out the method.
In this context, cable machine means an electrically powered machine that is connected to the surface by means of a cable (wireline), where the cable is also provided with an electrical conductor.
In the further description, the starting point is the cleaning of a pipe with deposits, as such a work operation highlights the cleaning tool's advantageous features in a satisfying way. However, the cleaning tool's area of use is in no way limited to such work, as it will be applicable for a number of works where pipes or boreholes are to be cleaned or expanded and where a so-called "pilot hole" is present.
During the operation of pipe systems of various types, it is well known that deposits can build up on the inner surface of the pipe over time. This is particularly unfortunate when it comes to long pipes where access is difficult and where chemical cleaning methods are not very effective.
Norwegian patent 320906 describes a tool which, by rotating inclined brushes in a pipe, causes the brushes to be assigned an axial, oscillating displacement in relation to the pipe wall. US patent 2025009 deals with cleaning bodies which are arranged to be ejected against the pipe wall by means of centrifugal force.
It is known to use cleaning tools which, at their free end, are provided with a cleaning seal body for cleaning pipes. The cleaning tool is moved along the pipe while it is rotated about the pipe's longitudinal axis. Cleaning tools that are equipped with rotatable cleaning bodies have proven to be effective, as the cleaning bodies break up deposits while rolling against the pipe's inner jacket surface. Norwegian patent 324515 and US patent 2150806 describe cleaning tools of this kind.
US patent 4085808 describes a machine which, in one embodiment, is shown to be able to form a hole in the ground. In one example, drilling a hole that crosses under a road is shown. The machine is equipped with belts for propulsion. The machine drags cables for power supply and hoses for drilling fluid behind it.
Although the cleaning tool according to NO 324515 is relatively effective compared to other cleaning tools, there is a user wish to further improve the cleaning effect.
The purpose of the invention is to remedy or reduce at least one of the disadvantages of known technology.
The purpose is achieved according to the invention by the features indicated in the description below and in the subsequent patent claims.
A method has been provided for cleaning a pipe body in the ground for deposits on the pipe body's inner mantle surface where the method comprises: - connecting a cleaning tool to a cable machine's tool shaft which is driven by a motor in the cable machine; - move the cleaning tool and the cable machine into the pipe body; - supply electrical energy for operation of the cleaning tool via a cable with an electrical conductor from the surface; and - rotate the cleaning tool about the longitudinal axis of the cleaning tool, and where the method is characterized by further comprising: - providing the cleaning tool with at least one rotatably stored roller blade which is provided with wear bodies on its outer surface, so that the roller blade has its entire effective part directed in the longitudinal direction of the pipe body and the wear bodies loosens the deposits when the cleaning tool is turned.
It has surprisingly been found that roller shears which have their active part directed in the longitudinal direction of the pipe body, show a significantly improved removal compared to a cleaning body where rollers are directed towards the internal casing surface of the pipe body or towards deposits that are located between the rollers and the casing surface.
The available power from a cable machine is relatively limited, which has logically led to the development of cleaning tools for such machines being aimed at rolling tools that require relatively little power.
It is well known that a drill bit-like tool requires significantly greater power than a rolling tool in order to work, and it is therefore not obvious for a professional to supply a cable machine with a tool of this kind.
The most well-known form of cable machine is often referred to as a wireline tractor. Cable machines are often equipped with propulsion machinery in the form of wheels, belts or displaceable grippers which are arranged to be able to rest against a pipe wall.
The method may comprise providing the cleaning tool with at least one longitudinal or screw-shaped groove on the cleaning tool's outer casing surface.
The method can be carried out with the help of a cable machine which is located in a pipe body in the ground and where the cable machine is provided with a cleaning tool for cleaning deposits in the pipe body, as the cable machine is connected to a cable with an electrical conductor, as the cable runs between the cable machine and the surface. The cleaning tool is equipped with at least one rotatably stored roller blade whose active part is directed in the longitudinal direction of the pipe body.
By the roller cutter's active part is meant the part of the roller cutter's mantle surface that engages with, for example, deposits in the pipe body.
The cable machine can be provided with a motor which is supplied with electrical energy via the cable, and the motor is arranged to be able to turn a tool shaft. The cleaning tool is typically connected to the cable machine's tool shaft, which is rotatable and driven about the cleaning tool's longitudinal axis. A cleaning tool according to the invention thus has a mode of operation that corresponds to a drill bit as is known from drilling holes in the ground.
A cleaning tool in the form of a drill bit that is driven by a cable machine can thus be used for cleaning a pipe body in the ground.
The cleaning tool may be provided with at least one longitudinal or helical groove on its outer casing surface. The groove helps loosened material to be more easily guided past the cleaning tool during the cleaning tool's displacement in the pipe body.
Kabelmaskinen kan utgjøres av en wirelinetraktor. The cable machine can consist of a wireline tractor.
The method and device according to the invention enables a significantly increased removal during cleaning of pipe bodies, which means that the shutdown time of relatively expensive facilities during cleaning operations is reduced.
In what follows, an example of a preferred embodiment is described which is visualized in the accompanying drawing, where: Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a cable machine which is located in a pipe body and which
er forsynt med et verktøy i overensstemmelse med oppfinnelsen. is provided with a tool in accordance with the invention.
In the drawing, the reference number 1 denotes a pipe body where an internal deposit 2 has formed. A cable machine 4 in the form of a wireline tractor is being displaced in the pipe body 1, the cable machine 4 being equipped with a cleaning tool 6.
The cable machine 4 is connected to a cable 8 which comprises an electrical conductor (not shown) and which extends to the surface.
The cleaning tool 6 is connected to the cable machine 4 by means of a tool shaft 10 which is driven by a motor 12 in the cable machine 4. The motor 12 is supplied with electrical energy via the cable 8 and is designed to be able to turn the tool shaft 10 about the cleaning tool 6's longitudinal axis 14.
The cleaning tool 6 is provided with three roller cutters 16. The roller cutters 16 are designed with a rough outer casing surface 18, with relatively hard wearing bodies 20 being attached to the casing surface 18.
The roller cutters 16 are stored in the body 22 of the cleaning tool 6 so that the active part 24 of the roller cutters 16, which engages with the deposit 2, works in the longitudinal direction of the pipe body 1 and stands approximately radially in relation to the longitudinal axis 14.
Since the mantle surface 18, for reasons of space, among other things, is conical, the roller cutters 16 are stored at an angle in relation to the longitudinal axis 14.
The cleaning tool 6 is provided with grooves 26 in its outer casing surface 28. The grooves 26 are slightly inclined in relation to the longitudinal axis 14 and arranged to facilitate the passage of loose deposits past the cleaning tool 6.
When the motor 12 rotates the cleaning tool 6, the wear bodies 20 of the roller cutters 16, which are located on the active parts 24 of the roller cutters, tear out deposits 2, as the deposits 2 after they have been loosened can flow past the tool 6 via the grooves 26, among other things.
