US 4,444,112 describes a projectile for pipe weapons with a penetration grenade stored in the projectile base.
The purpose of the invention is to propose a projectile for pipe weapons, which projectile is suitable for combating lightly armored vehicles as well as infantry.
With the invention, this purpose is achieved by utilizing the characteristic features stated in patent claim 1. Advantageous further developments of the invention are stated in the independent patent claims.
The new projectile has a relatively steep ascending ballistic flight path and will first come into effect in its relatively steep downward flight path part, either with a proximity function or an impact function.
In this way, the new projectile is suitable for local combat, combating infantry armored vehicles, vehicle assemblies as well as covered infantry positions. When knocking down buildings, the new projectile will be able to penetrate concrete roofs and take effect inside the building.
The invention shall be explained in more detail with reference to the drawings, where:
Fig. 1 viser et lengdesnitt gjennom et bombekasterprosjektil og Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section through a bomb launcher projectile and
fig. 2 viser et lengdesnitt gjennom et artilleriprosjektil. fig. 2 shows a longitudinal section through an artillery projectile.
That in fig. The bomb launcher projectile shown in 1 mainly consists of a guide 2, a fire tube 3 with sensor 16, an energy supply 17, an explosive charge 4 as well as a penetration grenade 6.
The impact grenade 6 is stored in a projectile base 7 and extends through almost the entire usable inner space 8 in the projectile 1.
The impact grenade 6 is over a greater part of its length 9 surrounded by the explosive charge 4 and by a double shrapnel jacket 5.
A front, ring-shaped support 10 for the impact grenade 6 is likewise designed as a splinter-shaped body.
The essential parts for the ignition of the projectile 1, such as the safety device 11 and the fire tube 12, are arranged impact-protected in the projectile base.
The parts that are no longer needed at or after the projectile hits the target, such as the sensor 16 and the energy supply 17, are arranged on the ogival side.
On the bottom side, the impact grenade 6 has a connection to the projectile base 7 in the form of a cut-off threaded part 13.
Den omgir gjennom gjennomslagsgranaten 6 over tilnærmet hele granatlengden 9. The explosive charge 4 designed as the main charge has no ignition device. It surrounds through the penetration grenade 6 over almost the entire length of the grenade 9. The ignition of the explosive charge 4 takes place sympathetically with the help of an explosive charge 22 in the penetration grenade 6.
The impact grenade 6 has a massive impact head 30 and a tubular rear part 31 for receiving the explosive charge 22, the fire tube 12 and the safety device 11.
The ogival-shaped impact head 30 is positively and/or force-locking stored in an opening 34 in the annular conical support 10,35. The cone 35 is in turn connected to the projectile jacket 26 in a shape- and/or force-locking manner.
Konusen 35 er utformet som et tolags splintlegeme 36. The cone 35 is designed as a two-layer splint body 36.
A first layer consists of glued or soldered heavy metal bodies 38, which form a self-supporting layer 37. On this first or self-supporting layer 37, a second layer 39 consisting of construction splinters 40 is fixed on the ogival side. This second layer 39 consists, for example, of a notched turn or of notched rings, in both cases of steel or heavy metal. One of the splinter sheaths 25 in the grenade launcher 1 consisting of a splinter-shaped material has an additional splinter insert 27 on the inside. This splinter insert 27 consists of a pre-embossed splinter jacket 28, such as a notched splinter winding or a number of notched cylindrical splinter rings arranged next to each other.
A separate projectile wedge 50 is connected to the splinter jacket 25. The projectile wedge consists of a suitable plastic material, which can be penetrated without resistance or almost without resistance by the splinters 38,40 from the cone 35.
Fig. 2 shows an artillery shell 100, with elements and component groups as in the grenade launcher shell 1.
The fire hose 12 has several working areas. It can therefore work in several ways, namely with ground projection, with a ground distance of approx. 1-4 m, a ground distance of approx. 8-14 m, projection with medium delay and projection with long delay.
The projectile 1,100 will, when the fire pipe 12 acts as a proximity fire pipe, deliver a large number of long-range splinters with an effective size and defined shape in an air space of from 0-2 m above the ground.
In the case of covers and buildings, the impact function of the fire tube 12 will mean that the impact grenade 6 will penetrate the target. The impact grenade 6 will detonate behind or under the earthen bunker or building wall/roof and have an explosive and splintering effect there.
When used against vehicles, such as lightly armored vehicles, the proximity function of the fire tube 12 will result in the formation of heavy pre-shaped splinters at high speed from above at a ground distance of 10-12 m, mainly in the conical, two-layered splinter body 36. The impact grenade's 6 massive impact head 30 will give a large splintering effect.
