Description
The invention relates to a method for the construction of an environmentally friendly road, particularly on soft ground, as stated in the introduction to patent claim 1.
The invention also relates to a system and an anchoring plug for use in the method, as stated in the introduction to the respective claims 3 and 6.
Roads on soft ground such as marshy terrain are built today by excavating and draining the ground. Plastic membranes are then arranged and any insulation before mass, usually in the form of a combination of crushed stone, gravel and sand, is added before any final processing is carried out. For roads intended for relatively large traffic, this will, depending on the nature of the terrain, entail very large construction costs. For smaller roads such as forest roads, the costs are more reasonable, but the construction method is still labour-intensive, expensive and difficult. The constructed road also undoubtedly represents a clear intervention in nature.
Motorized traffic outside established roads in exposed areas, such as soft forest floor, wetland areas and marshy terrain, leaves clear traces behind and represents serious encroachment on nature. Traffic by non-motorized vehicles, people and animals in such areas can also represent problems both in terms of accessibility and encroachment on nature, although not to the same extent as motorized traffic. Although it is in and of itself previously known to use netting materials that are placed on the ground to stabilize soil slopes against erosion etc. and for planting purposes, to the best of the inventor's knowledge no such layout has previously been proposed to remedy the problems with the construction of a road as stated above.
The purpose of the present invention is thus to provide a method, a simple and flexible surface system which can function both permanently and/or temporarily, and an anchoring plug, which makes it reasonable to build roads in exposed areas of the above kind. It prevents or reduces wear and tear when using such areas. It entails minimal intervention in nature, and also represents no risk of pollution.
This is achieved according to the invention with a method, system and anchoring plug of the type indicated at the outset, which is characterized by the characteristics of the respective patent claims 1, 3 and 6.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention appear from the independent patent claims.
The method and system according to the invention is based on netting in the form of flakes or simple mats, or more extensive mat constructions of suitable material, which are laid out on the ground where the road or path is to run. No digging is usually carried out. Mesh size, mesh thickness, material density and tensile strength and any UV protection and/or stabilization are selected as required. The system can further include whole or perforated pipes, which can be rigid or flexible, joints, anchoring plugs, fastening devices between plugs and netting/matting/pipes, stabilizing struts, drainage pipes and devices to mark the road. The system is provided in such a way that it is suitable for anchoring in the ground. The anchorages can be with or without expanding vertical and/or horizontal expansion. All relevant places on the netting, i.e. flat sides, side edges and end edges, must be able to be anchored using the appropriate anchoring plugs, which preferably can be height-adjusted as required. The plugs must be able to be fitted with a preferably horizontal attachment, in varying sizes, to the netting. The attachment must also be able to function as a support point, possibly a buoyancy point or stabilization point, or as a combination of the specified functions. The system preferably includes cross braces for stiffening the netting where this is necessary or desirable. A combination of cross brace and floating body can also be used. The system is also designed so that it can be equipped with side markers that can have varying heights.
After the system, or in reality the road, has been laid out, the netting etc. can possibly be covered with a natural growth material. If desired, a layer of gravel or similar can of course also be laid out.
Veiens overflatevekst gror naturlig gjennom nettingens maskeåpninger og styrker strekkavlastningskapasiteten samtidig som veisystemet i best mulig grad inkorporeres i naturen. The road's surface growth grows naturally through the netting's mesh openings and strengthens the strain relief capacity at the same time as the road system is incorporated into nature to the best possible extent.
Oppfinnelsen skal nå beskrives under henvisning til tegningene, der The invention will now be described with reference to the drawings, where
Fig. 1 viser skjematisk et system i henhold til oppfinnelsen i form av en utlagt nettingmatte hvorpå det er anordnet diverse stag; Fig. 2 viser skjematisk en variant av systemet utformet med elementer for drenerings-, stabiliserings-, og oppdriftsformål; Fig. 3 viser skjematisk et eksempel på en forankringsplugg; Fig. 4 viser skjematisk et eksempel på en forankringsplugg av oppdrifts- eller stabilise-ringstypen; og Fig. 5 viser skjematisk, sett ovenfra, et eksempel på anordning av pluggen på fig. 4; Fig. 1 schematically shows a system according to the invention in the form of a laid out mesh mat on which various struts are arranged; Fig. 2 schematically shows a variant of the system designed with elements for drainage, stabilization and buoyancy purposes; Fig. 3 schematically shows an example of an anchoring plug; Fig. 4 schematically shows an example of an anchoring plug of the buoyancy or stabilization type; and Fig. 5 shows schematically, seen from above, an example of arrangement of the plug in Fig. 4;
In Figure 1, the reference number 1 indicates a mat of the mesh type. It can preferably be made of plastic such as PE or PP or other natural materials that pose a minimal risk of environmental pollution. Other suitable materials can of course also be chosen. Essential requirements, however, are that the mat has the necessary tensile strength, is easy to handle, reasonable to manufacture and does not break down and pollute the environment to an unacceptable degree. There are also no absolute requirements for the mesh size and this can therefore be chosen according to desire or need.
One or more braces 2 may be arranged on the mat 1. As indicated, they may be transverse braces, inclined braces or cross braces. The main purpose of the struts 2 is to ensure that the mat 1 is stretched out in the correct way and essentially maintains this shape, also after loading. The struts 2 are, as indicated, equipped with suitable fastening devices 3, which must also be able to be fitted to anchoring plugs and possibly marking rods.
The netting 1 can be supplied as a roll which is easily unrolled where the road is to be, and which is preferably anchored to the ground.
Rørene 4 fungerer som stabiliserende elementer, eventuelt også som oppdriftlegemer og de kan også tjene til dreneringsformål, De er utført av stivt eller delvis elastisk materiale, eksempelvis et Fig. 2 shows a variant of the invention in which there is arranged a longitudinal tube 4 which is connected to the intermediate net mat 1. The joining can be carried out by welding, gluing, lacing or in another appropriate way. The pipes 4 function as stabilizing elements, possibly also as buoyancy bodies and they can also serve for drainage purposes. They are made of rigid or partially elastic material, for example a
egnet plastmateriale. They can be whole or split, and made with or without perforations. Further pipes can also be arranged over the middle part of the net mat 1. The pipes 4 are preferably made so that they can be connected to several sections. Perforations or holes can be arranged in the upper edge for the release of water or ice in the event of, for example, frost.
The pipes 4 can optionally be made of net material corresponding to the net mat 1 which is rolled up to form the pipe body.
Fig. 3 viser et eksempel på en forankringsplugg 6. Fig. 3 shows an example of an anchoring plug 6. This comprises a stem body 9 which transitions into a drive-in tip designed in an appropriate way to achieve good anchoring in the ground. In the figure, a jagged arrow shape is shown. At the end of the plug part which runs through the net mat 1, there is an upper 7 and lower 8 stop disc which also functions as a carrier disc. At the upper end, threads can be arranged for interlocking attachment with an upward-extending marking rod. No such rod is shown, but it is made of a suitable material, and it is, as mentioned, adapted for connection or attachment to anchoring plugs 6, possibly struts 2,3. The marking poles can be equipped in an appropriate way, for example with luminous tape etc., lights etc., so that it is easy to observe the marking. Fig. 4 shows an example of another type of anchoring plug 11. This is made with an inner plug body 12 which at its lower end is shaped with a suitable pointed body for driving into the ground. A conical body 13 is arranged around an upper part of the plug body 12. The body 13 extends over and constitutes a substantial part of the plug 11. It can be designed hollow, with an upward-facing opening and possibly equipped with a suitable lid. It can be permanently sealed or possibly massive. In a similar way as with the plug 6, there may preferably be a stop, support or fastening discs 14. The plug 11, in addition to being an anchor, constitutes a buoyant body, which can be particularly appropriate in very wet ground conditions. It can optionally be filled with mass, for example soil or gravel, and then acquires further favorable properties as a stabilizing element.
Fig. 5 illustrates a schematic example of the use of the plug 11 in a mesh mat 1.
For experts in the field, it is obvious that the invention as it is outlined in the exemplary embodiments given above can be modified and the examples must therefore not be interpreted as limiting the invention as it is stated in the subsequent patent claims.
